This works perfectly for me with Proton 8.0-5 without any extra tweaks. Mouse works, XBox controller works.
However it failed to work for me with either GE-Proton9-7 as well as Proton Experimental. With both of those Proton options the game crashes before the intro menu with the error "Assertion failed!" in loader_thunks.c with Expression: "!status && "vkLatencySleepNV""

Being unable to adjust graphics and enter fullscreen makes this nearly unplayable.
Options menu is unusable, can't enter fullscreen.
Opening the options menu makes a constant scrolling noise and soft locks. I can't change options or get out of the menu.

VKD3D_CONFIG=no_upload_hvv mangohud /usr/games/gamemoderun %command%
on low settings 35 FPS max GPU and CPU utilization far below 50%
not ready now

Game launched in window mode and I couldn't make it full screen until I entered the game and changed it via settings.
I would frequently have issues where the game would lock up when I opened the main menu.

Game launches in windowed mode with a small resolution
The game soft locks when accessing the options menu and I have to kill the process.
Options screen is non-functional and soft locks the game.

My mouse issues and Steam controller not being recognised made this an annoying experience, though all game functionality was there.
gamescope -w 1920 -h 1080 -f -s 2 -- mangohud %command%
I had set the resolution to 1920x1080 using gamescope, but the initial game resolution was 1280xsomething, which had the effect of a shrunken screen in the center of my monitor. Once I set the ingame resolution to match the gamescope session everything worked correctly.
Mouse is not being constrained properly and only works in a smaller portion of the screen. Also the mouse was not being recognised at first. I had to switch back and forth between different desktops before the game registered the mouse.
Using only Proton8-05 and Proton-Experimental resulted in a black screen that closed after a second, though the game was still technically running. Could only get the game to run using gamescope.
Mangohud was reporting 99% GPU usage during character creation when run through the Steam client. When I ran it through Lutris, it was down to 69-ish%. I have no idea why (wrong ICD choice maybe?). More testing is required on my end.
All my testing was done in Hyprland (which means Wayland). I have KDE6 installed but haven't tested this game in it yet (really like my Hyprland setup).

The game crashes with no proton or proton-GE8-30, Experimental Bleeding edge seems to fix it. All setting are working and the "game" runs smothly. Have to close the game from Steam everytime i try to exit it.

works out of the box
on launch there are some weird flickers but after it loads everything is fine
had issues previously but on a fresh arch install works perfectly fine out of the box

Required compatability mode to boot, used Proton Experimental. Alt-Enter to go fullscreen. Options screen fully functional, which was good because the default resolution was quite low.
Very promising!

Inital startup failed with no change to compatibility but worked perfectly with GE 8-32
Works fine, no tinkering needed

Runs as expected, didn't seem to have any issues with my system, however slow systems may have issues.
Forced into a window and incorrect resolution, was very easily fixed in the settings.
Slight stutter when loading textures for armour, frame rate dip by about 5~ frames. Nothing extremely noticable.
Left the default compatibility, didn't have to really do anything, worked right out of the box.

Will suddenly freeze and need to be restarted after an inconsistent amount of time running without other issue. Earliest freeze was after 2 minutes, but have played for about 30 minutes before freezing.
The character creator thankfully autosaves frequently enough that not much progress is lost from restarts.

Switching to fullscreen crashes the game. Borderless works fine.
WIth GE Proton 9-1 even the options menu works.

GloriousEggroll saving the day as usual.

On my laptop I didn't have to do anything, on my desktop I had to select Proton Experimental.

Some performance issues with stuttering or random freezes
After a while this character editor will freeze for no apparent reason, total freeze lockup and has to be Force Quit because it does not recover.
Won't work on Wine/Proton versions below 9.1 for some reason, because when you get to the Screen Adjustment setup screen on startup it will Crash after setting screen Brightness, Contrast and Gamma settings and attempt to send a Crash Report and fail before closing the game again.
Shouldn't require tinkering, just changing Proton versions to one that doesn't crash at Screen Adjustment on startup should run out-the-box just fine.

Nothing to report. All default settings and it ran. I could create a character and save it.

stuck in widnowed mode
going to options menu breaks everything the button sellect sound starts looping non stop and you cant click/change anything or go back and need to kill the game
You can use the character creator if you stay in windowed mode and dont enter options menu, forcing fullscreen on launch options doesnt seem to do anything.

Facial textures jumped all over the place. Eyes outside the head, teeth clipping through cheeks. Lots of visual artifacts and texture warping on the faces.
Taking screenshots through Steam crashes the game
I'm aware my system is outdated. Hoping that's the cause of the issues.

Set game to fullscreen by setting the following in config.ini:
[RenderConfig] FullScreenDisplayMode=<monitor's native resolution and refresh rate> FullScreenMode=true WindowMode=FullScreen [AppOption] WindowMode=FullScreen Resolution=<monitor's native resolution>
Game continually changes window resolution and jumps between monitors during startup. After that, window seems fine.
Options menu doesn't work. The categories on the left can be browsed, but the actual settings don't respond to mouse or controller input. In the options menu, the game makes a continual clicking sound as though repeated inputs are being received, but they continue even with no input devices connected. The rest of the game appears unaffected.

Jumps around a bit on launch on my dual monitor setup as a small window, then goes normal resolution when the splashscreens are done.
Works fine, a good sign for the full release.

Works flawlessly without tinkering. Makes me feel hope for the full Game although it's going to be more compromised than the character creation.
