Works just as well as Windows
The game is buggy on Windows as well - so if you get into a situation where critical objects vanish from your inventory know that it is not Linux or Proton. And get the save files from the thread in Steam Discussions if the game soft-locks.
Native is note working.

Using Proton 9.0-4 works ok
After the first chapter, the game crashed. But the auto-save function worked flawless.
The german text is not rendered properly.
The native version did not start

Nativ and proton version are not working.
To get it to work I have to install a special java JRE.

Все работает "из коробки"

Everything works out of the box

I incorrectly reported that the native Linux version works fine out of the box but I actually finished the game successfully with Proton 8.0-5. Disregard my previous report.

The native Linux version works perfectly out of the box
The second game of this series (The Last Wind Monk) has a buggy Linux version and requires Proton, but this one works fine and the game can be completed using the native version without any issues.

No issues with proton 8
I was completely unable to even launch the native version. It just closed immediately. After setting it to use Proton instead it ran fine.
Two or three times during the playthrough I got stuck on a loading screen, with no way out but to kill the game and restart it. Each time it had saved during the loading screen however, and I loaded back in on the other side of it. Not a huge deal, just a minor annoyance.

Some in game animations are missing, it's playable but not ideal for this type of comedy game.
PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=90 %command%
Cutscene audio sometimes plays but not the animation, like the drunk worm.
Native Linux support is listed but it's not available anymore, I guess devs removed it and now it only downloads the windows files.
It doesn't work neither natively nor with forced proton
Natively game doesn't run for me at all. With forced proton it runs but only shows black screen (I tried experimental, 7.0-5, 6.3-8 and GE7-43).
In the third act, you'll start playing nose flute. By default, this is done via the PC keyboard using 1-4. The virtual keyboard doesn't work here. You need to go into the configuration settings and set some buttons (I used L4/L5/R4/R5) to the keys 1 to 4.
Set back buttons L4/L5/R4/R5 to keys 1 to 4
see above
Play all fine. Neede my glasses to read the item texts. ;)
Finished game without issues
Native version has all kinds of issues, like missing cutscenes. Proton worked flawlessly
The game crashes using a native runtime, but runs fine on Proton 5+, with some audio and desync issues.
Audio is crackling and cutsceenes fall out of sync
Native crashes with:

Works fine with WINE D3D
Native version doesn't work at all - play button does nothing. But Windows build works great using Proton-5.0 for me!
Works with DXVK (d3d9) on Proton 5.0
During first start the game crashed when starting a new game, but next time it worked fine.
I could play this game before, now it works. Just a crash at first launch, then I could play.

Borked, just a black screen and a mouse cursor
Doesn't work on Proton, tested additionally with ProtonGE 4.20, but it didn't help. The Linux native version doesn't work for me either!

Black screen with a mouse cursor.
This game is the ultimate way to troll linux users: Provide broken native version, but at the same time make sure it doesn't work under proton either!
The native version is a joke, it doesn't play cutscenes and achievements don't work. The game runs much better with Proton.

are you sure you use STEAMPLAY? the nativ game wont work for me, because it needs jave stuff. but with proton it works OOTB.

Doesn't work on Proton, only a black screen is shown.

Still borked on Proton.

Doesn't work on Proton, only a black screen is shown.
