PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
it only worked with the launch options. Otherwise, I got the error that I shall enable DirectX11
flawless
some months ago, I had to use "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%". Now it works flawless without any extra command.
working great!
in the native variant, the audio did not work for me. Using Proton 8.0-5 did work fine
no audio for me
intro is working with sound. But the menu and ingame lacks audio
in LAN, we could not find the hosted game, but running through steam just worked.
The Demo does not work
installed mfc140
The Early Access Version does still work, but the Demo of the full version (AppID 3256650) does not.
After installing mfc140.dll through protontricks (some people suggested that), I get the error:
"Shader: natives/ssgi [FRAGMENT]" verify that you have the latest graphic driver installed.
works sufficient
I use the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Controller with the wireless dongle and I needed to adjust the Trigger reaction curve to "aggressive" to actual gain control over gas and brake.
The only downside is the loooong loading sequence. It takes about 2 minutes between pressing play and the game actually starting. (probably due to the EA Launcher starting in the background)
one time when it crashed, we had to replay the level. the other time, the level was finished, my buddy got a spell but I did not. I finished the game with 8 spells instead of the supposed 9.
the game crashed 2 times on the loading screen during a 5 hour multiplayer session.
see stability and saves
still worked good enough to be enjoyable.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=TRUE %command%
the game does not support cloud savings. Be careful, before you change the proton version!
it works fine on linux
in the loading screen, it is kind of laggy. But as the game is within alpha, this is absolutely fine.
ubisoft makes me unhappy :(
When I install the game, it updates UPLAY to UBISOFT CONNECT. When I log in with my credentials, I get the MFA notification. => it should be able to connect to the internet. After I logged in, I get the error: "A Ubisoft service is currently unavailable. Please try again later."
I tried Proton 7.0-6, Proton-Experimental and GE-Proton7-53.
DXVK_FRAME_RATE=200 %command%
without GE-Proton, the Ubisoft launcher would just not work properly. It was just a see-through box.
I use DXVK_FRAME_RATE to reduce the load on the GPU. Especially in menus.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=TRUE %command%
Proton 6.3-8: works ---- Proton 7.0-6: flickering ---- Proton experimental: works
run this 1 line:
env WINEPREFIX=~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/16700/pfx winecfg
# if your steam location is different, change the path
This will open a window. Cancel the "mono installer" dialog.
In the window, go to the graphics tab and check the box for the "mouse capture" and "create a virtual desktop" with your screen resolution. On my system, this resulted in a blinking blue screen at startup, but enabled "Alt-Tab" functionality.
Start the game with Proton 5.0 and close it. Then, use the following command after you installed "protontricks" for your distribution:
protontricks 16700 directplay
After directplay is installed, you can change back to the default Proton version. I got permission errors, when trying to install directplay with higher Proton versions.

the native version did not care, what audio device was the active one in my KDE Plasma session. Playing the game with Proton fixed it.
Using Proton 9.0-4 works ok
After the first chapter, the game crashed. But the auto-save function worked flawless.
The german text is not rendered properly.
The native version did not start
when having multiple monitors, the cursor is able to escape the game sometimes when it is not supposed to do. my opinion: The cursor is allowed to leave the game, when a cursor is shown. The cursor is not allowed to leave the game, when I want to place an object. I want to report this behavior to the developers.
Mouse Scaling does not work. It is a little bit small on a 1440p and above monitor.
I like the game. Only minor issues. The linux native version behaves seemingly identical to the version with proton. Looking forward :)
