Bonus War Child content does not play (garbled video but audio is fine) on regular Proton. GE-Proton fixes it.
Native works out of the box
Simple physics puzzle game with no issues whatsoever running Native without any tweaks.
Forced Proton usage
Native build did not detect controller - force running with Proton got it working
Switched to GEProton to let it install required components. Switched back to regular Proton to play.
Game doesn't run due to shader compilation errors. You need to install some components by following the steps for protontricks from other comments or just switch to the latest GE Proton to let it install them itself. Switch back to regular Proton to play - it wouldn't run on GE for whatever reason.
Decent game with some bugs on all platforms
The game has a tendency to soft-lock in the later stages - but that's the same on all platforms. Otherwise runs perfectly fine as a native build.
Excellent experience with Proton
Worked straight out of the box. Didn't try linking EA account so no clue if that would work - but then again why would you even try that? It just works as it is.
Interesting WW2 tactical shooter with AI squadmates
Native version works perfectly. Apart from some jank that is just inherent to the game and is the same on Windows.
Short and wholesome narrative game - works perfectly
Runs perfectly with Proton without any tweaks. No audio or framerate issues.
Perfect game for teaching the young 'uns math
Zero glitches or slowdowns in any of the minigames / segments.
Runs right out of the box
Works without any issues. The community created puzzles are also accessible in game without tinkering.
Intro and game over cinematic audio does not play
Ending the turn causes a significant frame drop which does not happen on Windows
Regular proton causes framerate drops every few seconds making it annoying to even pan the screen. The intro and game over cinematics are also completely broken (no audio or video) with default proton. Game is okay with GE-Proton apart from the previously mentioned framerate and cinematics audio missing issue.
Native build still works
Was able to 100% the game with the native build
Native build works - game is just janky
The game was built for touchscreen so playing with mouse isn't very intuitive
Fairly decent native build
Intermittent stutters - probably when loading sections of the map
The game runs fine apart from some intermittent stutters
Launch first using GE-Proton9-2
Stuck at intro screen without GE-Proton
Native build works perfectly
Works perfectly under the Steam Linux Runtime 1.0 - should stay playable practically forever
PROTON_USE_WINED3D10=1 %command% -novid
Infrequent stutters and framerate drops
You need to set some launch flags for this to work with experimental.
Works decently with Proton
Mouse has vertical offset when you launch. Switch to windowed mode and back to fullscreen to fix.
Crashed twice over 5 hours of gameplay
Note that the game just runs at a low framerate - even on Windows. Never saw it go above 25-28 fps on either Windows or Linux.
Achievements don't unlock with Native version. Force play with Proton to fix.
Game works fine without tinkering as Native but achievements don't work.
Works fine with Proton
The game gets randomly capped at 30 fps some times. At other times it runs at a full 60.
Despite the performance issues it still runs at a playable-ish 30fps +
Runs fine with Proton
Inconsistent frame-rates. Game bounces between running at a full 60 and then randomly getting capped at 30.
Perfectly fine with Proton
Works straight out of the box - too bad the game itself is quite meh
GE works perfectly - good framerate, no issues windowing, etc. Default Proton (8.0-5) has some slowdowns when the menu is opened or when there are a lot of things on screen.
Works perfectly with default Proton
Used to have framerate drops previously when the purchase UI was opened with many things on screen unless I used ProtonGE. Works flawlessly by default now.
Play on Standard settings instead of High and it will run perfectly fine
FPS drops by 80% when playing on High settings instead of Standard. Same issue is not faced on Windows.
Runs fine in fullscreen with normal graphics setting.
Unable to click certain buttons in windowed mode as the mouse exits the window before the buttons are hovered.
High graphics setting runs at 10% the FPS of normal. This is not the case on Windows.
Works out of the box
There was a temporary hitch with a dependency not being available in the Steam Linux Runtime but now it is resolved. That of course means that this native build should remain playable for decades to come.
Native build works fine
Steam cloud syncing is broken but saves work locally
Native build that runs perfectly
I was able to play the game to completion - amazing experience on Linux desktop
Native build that works just fine
If you overwrite the save file the game occasionally crashes
Ran perfectly apart from the occasional crash when overwriting an existing save file. The save file itself gets correctly written to disk so you can just run the game again and load without issues.
Works decently with Proton
Game crashed a couple of times. Seems to have been random - and I was able to progress normally after launching again.
Works fine with Proton
Note that there are some performance issues with the game but it's due to it being made with Flash. The same issues occur on Windows.
Worked perfectly out of the box. I've only played the first episode - but will try the remaining episodes this summer sale and update.
Works with Proton
Short puzzle game that runs just fine. Be aware that framerate will drop when you push the settings - posts in the Steam discussions show that this happens even on Windows. So the FPS drop at max settings (especially AO on) are not due to Proton.
Works with Proton
Was able to play through fully. The cinematics work without issues as well.
Perfect with Proton
Was able to 100% the game without crashes and all the videos played without issues.
Works perfectly with Proton
Performs better than the first game. Even the short game end video plays perfectly.
Native build runs perfectly
The game itself is a bit annoying with plenty of hunt-the-pixel point-n-click design but works fine on Linux.
Just works
The Steam store page does not list requirements for Linux/SteamOS but it's a native build. Works perfectly out of the box using keyboard and mouse as input.
Cool little puzzle platformer - will have you rewind to last checkpoint very frequently
Overall decent game - perfect Linux native experience. Many of the later puzzles have weird convoluted solutions that it is very easy to enter into a soft-lock state. The game provides you with a rewind mechanic but I feel like it's a band-aid solution.
Use Proton instead of Native build
Native build is playable but with weird monitor refresh rate detection leading to an FPS cap at 30. Forcing Proton fixed that issue and revealed a ton more launch options that did not show up with the native build.
Forced usage of Proton - Native build does not work
A short and quirky platformer about the history of western typography. Native build no longer functions but good to see that latest Proton works without issues. I didn't need to force an older Proton build as previous reports recommend.
The last fully functioning Unreal game - works well on Linux
The only tinkering steps needed were the same as on windows due to the servers shutting down. If you just plan on goofing around locally vs bots or LAN play even that is not necessary.
