Native Linux build is borked and crashes after the Unity splash screen. Forcing the use of the Windows build with Proton works fine.
I couldn't figure out how to test everything, but what I could wrap my head around seems to work okay.
Importing a source is somewhat inconvenient and requires you to manually go from / all the way to your home folder.
Due to Cathodemer's complexity, I have no way of knowing if all features work, but to my knowledge, I haven't seen any breakage.
Note that an external account is required for online multiplayer, but it all works as intended.
Has an issue where levels do not load in without using a certain launch parameter, but once fixed, it works perfectly fine.
PROTON_SET_GAME_DRIVE=1 %command%
Levels would not load until I added PROTON_SET_GAME_DRIVE=1 to the launch options.
Controls didn't work with default configuration, so instead I downloaded SilverCHX's "Deck Keybindings" community layout, and all works fine.
Additionally, visuals were blurry when I started, with scaling being set to 2x by default, but after changing scaling to the "Full" preset in the in-game options, everything looked nice and sharp.
Visuals were blurry due to improper scaling being applied by default. This was remedied by changing scaling to "Full" in the in-game options.
The only problem I encountered is that some voice lines during the story sequences get cut off a little bit at the end, but it might also behave like that on Windows for all I know, so I can't say for certain that's an issue with Proton.
Game is displayed at 4:3 (aspect ratio seemingly cannot be changed) and text is designed to be viewed on a desktop screen.
Game stuck in 4:3.
Trackpads and thumbsticks are too sensitive.
Game speed runs too fast.
Also, the default binds don't allow for game chat, so good luck saying "John Madden" or "aeiou".
There's a minor visual hiccup, but only on first startup. Keyboard prompts are sometimes displayed in menus, but it plays flawlessly.
The game briefly displays at the wrong resolution upon first startup, but the problem fixes itself by the time you reach the title screen. There are keyboard prompts present during menus, but they don't show up during actual gameplay.
Works great, but until the devs fix Steam Deck mode to support HDR, some tinkering is required to get HDR.
SteamDeck=0 %command% -d3d12
HDR does not work out of the box. It's forced off in Steam Deck mode, so that must be disabled. By default, Tetris Effect prefers DX11 over DX12. DXVK doesn't support HDR right now, so DX12 mode must be forced in order to use vkd3d.
The devs fixed HDR on Steam Deck. It now works out of the box with no workaround required.
There's no audio, but the rest of the game works fine.
No audio at all.
Artifacts showed up when cards faded away
The only major problem right now is the audio being gone. This is still an improvement over the last time I tried playing Uno through Proton, where the multiplayer wouldn't work at all.
