Tried with experimental. haven't tried to log into xbox live services but I tried a co-op match with a friend and had no problems whatsoever
Game runs perfect with proton experimental. I didn't add any launch options or fixes. Tried Co-Op game and worked perfectly. Didn't log into xbox live services because I couldn't authorize the game. Probably needs the fix for this. Still, the game runs perfect and co-op works without issues.
Launching it without GE proton results in game without sound. Perfectly playable otherwise.
Game doesn't download the correct files but only 100mb of data that doesn't allow it to exectue
Seems the installation is broken on steam deck. The game is around 4gb of space and the deck installation is just roughly 100mb.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ddraw=n,b" %command% -SPEEDCONTROL
- Launch the game, wait for the main menu then quit out of it (DO THIS WITHOUT THE LISTED LAUNCH OPTIONS!)
- Get cnc-ddraw from https://github.com/FunkyFr3sh/cnc-ddraw/releases and unpack it to .steam/Steam/steamapps/common/Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun replacing any existing files.
- In the SUN.INI file, which is in the same directory as above, and change the resolution to your desired resolution. Note the UI doesn't scale well and so I would recommend not going above 1920x1080.
- Again in the same directory go to DDrawCompat.ini and add your resolution to the list Apply the specified launch options and then launch the game.
The resolution won't show in game options, but the game will run at your selected res in SUN.INI. In game, change speed to something lower until you're happy with the result.
Black menus without the cncdraw fix
Perfect out of the box. As a verified game should be. Played for a few hours in couch coop, using steamlink to stream to TV. Everything worked perfectly with no differences from the windows game. It appears as if I don't own the game because we were playing with the account of my girlfriend instead of mine (she owns it, not me), the game is perfectly playable.
Controller support for the game is broken, you won't be able to play the game at all using a controller.
Controller support is broken
Although the game presenta itself as fully compatible with controllers, it's not true. You can't play with controllers as the game won't recognise any input (or will recognise only some at random times) making it impossible to select dialogue options in game and sometimes even select the option you want in the menus. I'd say it's right now broken as you can't play it oob on Steam deck.
