This could just be a Hyprland bug/issue, but when fullscreened I could not get back into the game if I tabbed out of it.
Background of Main Menu is just a TV test pattern, my guessing is video is simply broken while using Proton.
As far as I can see, no issues playing and connecting online once you can reach the Main Menu.
Game will not open at all without Experimental Proton enabled and turned on. Once on, game suffers from very minor bugs/issues, but is otherwise fun and perfectly playable, even voice chat works!
Runs flawlessly except a very rare lighting flicker
Lighting seems to flicker very rarely, this might simply be a driver issue rather then the game.
The startup splash screen has very mild audio crackling, otherwise is fine after that.
This could be just a Hyprland/Wayland issue, but I couldn't correctly switch windows as the fullscreen mode on this just seems to totally take over the screen. Playing in windowed mode has no issues.
Takes quite a bit of time to start up, otherwise starts fine once the correct Proton version is set.
I have no idea why only the oldest version of proton worked for me, but I tried it out of desperation and it did work, so hey there you go. The "native" version didn't work at all no idea why it's marked as such, it just never opened when trying to launch without Proton forced.
Runs perfectly fine, just need to set the deadzones!
You really should set controller deadzones in the settings as they start off at basically nothing. Otherwise you may get some weird steering shakes when trying to go straight with a controller.
Mic didn't work naively, but worked fine when running through proton
The native version works totally fine if you don't mind having no mic, but it really is helpful to run it through Proton to get the mic to function.
Game runs fine, as long as you don't tab out
Tabbing out then back in makes inputs not register, even when the game is windowed
Runs better through Proton then Native port
Had some issues with the game running through the Native port version. A laggy map screen and some mod instability. Running through Proton fixed both issues flawlessly. If you don't mind a bit of lag on the map screen or don't run many mods, the native port is fine. Otherwise run through Proton for a smoother experience.
Requires some tinkering that may be a little weird for some users, but afterwards runs pretty much fine
As others have stated, you need to use ProtonTricks and then this command:
protontricks 105600 dotnet452
.
Alt-Tabbing is a bit funky and causes the screen to flash black or white for a split second before returning to normal. Not a huge issue but may annoy some people.
The native port is quite flawed and has several issues that get rather annoying pretty fast, and it seems the proton version does as well. You really should use the protontricks for the best experience. You can't host multiplayer games directly, but can join them fine with no issues.
On booting the game, the fullscreen is slow to open and can be a bit flickery
As stated in the title, the game runs fine however you really do need proton in order to use the third (and best) DLC. While I used the experimental version, you can probably use 7.0 if you don't wanna use experimental.
gamescope -W 1600 -H 900 -r 60 -- %command%
Fullscreen seems borked, but that could just be because I am on Hyprland/Wayland. Can't escape game when fullscreened, have to play windowed.
Mouse will escape the bounds of the window unless you use gamescope.
Playing the game without gamescope seems perfectly fine, however the mouse WILL escape the confines of the window without it so it's highly reccomended.
Just won't work, with or without Proton
Been pulling my hair out for ages trying to get it to work, but to no avail. It just won't work at all, with or without Proton. When i was able to get it to work for just a second, the music and menus were both totally broken. It then refused to open again after that. Totally and utterly busted.
