Game was from Epic Games. Launched it via Heroic (after adding to Steam for controller support)
Anti-Cheat strikes once again
Hopefully they'll allow Linux users in the future
"Online services unavailable" - Can't get past TOS.
After accepting TOS the game is supposed to open a new tab on your default browser, where you accept the TOS - it didn't open the default browser though. So the game wouldn't let me play online (thus not let me play at all). While this issue can arise under Windows, on Win11 there seem to have been no problems whatsoever.
Didn't work at all with the default wine from Heroic (it said, that there were internet connection issues), but switching to the newest Proton-GE Version available on Heroic solved the issue
worked flawlessly with wine-ge-8-26
Quitting the game results in an error, which means you have to force close it.
Works fine, but I think barely anyone plays this game.
used wine-ge-8-26
I wasn't able to hear any emotes.
When there are a large number of entities.
Matchmaking often fails, however, that's also on Windows
Native was very buggy, Proton worked well.
Occasionally I would be stuck and couldn't move at all, even though I could still move the camera. Mashing the keyboard actually has fixed that issue before.
Tried it natively first. Game would only open on my secondary screen (apparently, because it's my left screen) and have issues with aspect ratio and resolution as well as not having my mouse point under its cursor. (but rather shifted to the right?)
Using Proton none of those issues mentioned above persisted and it was a decent experience.
Works great out of the box
Rare freezing (~10s), though a friend, who's on Windows, had the same issue
Occasional freezes when trying to clip while playing. Maybe due to limitations of my hardware.
Switch between Proton versions (incl. Experimental) if you are kicked from the server when trying to play
Occasional freezing when trying to record during gameplay
Runs even better than on Windows 11.
Just don't forget to turn off vsync. (I also made sure to play borderless windowed)

Camera might act funny when in small spaces, such as SEGA Arcade.
