DEMO ONLY: Runs great other than a few issues which can be explained away by the early state of the game (alpha at the time of this review).
Game won't shut down, have to alt-tab out. If an enemy adds cards to your deck, they cover the UI and make some options unavailable until you exit. But both could be due to the alpha state of the game.
Once I set the WINE 3D3 launch option and forced off the controller settings in Big Picture Mode, it runs like a dream.
Had to open up Steam Big Picture and set the game's controller options to 'Forced Off' before the controller would work
Game worked wonderfully for around 50 hours. Then it suddenly started dropping all backgrounds. Only characters and the skybox were visible.
Had to open Big Picture mode and set controller to Forced Off before it would recognize input.
Around 50 hours in, game started completely freezing every few mintues.
Demo only: Worked great once I got past the stuttering menu.
During the initial menu, things were very slow and stuttery but once that menu was passed, the issue cleared up.
Other than the headache inducing menu background and a few camera hiccups, it works great.
Menu background and opening cinematic are a nightmare technicolor mess.
Loading times are absolutely bonkers. Don't know if that's a proton issue or a development issue though. Also it hangs for a second or two sometimes when moving the camera around.
Instant crash
Launcher shows up. I can open Options and mess around with settings, but every combination ends up silently crashing as soon as I hit 'Play.'
Controller not detected, otherwise perfect
Game refuses to recognize XBox controller even with launch options mentioned below.
Enhanced Edition would not launch, neither would the native Linux game but forcing it to run through Proton worked like a charm.
Some slight stuttering
Demo was unresponsive.
Using XBox controller, X and B were reversed, A and Y did nothing.
Got through the first dialogue, but could not select anything on the map. Using keyboard because controller wasn't working, but no buttons had any effect.
Ran perfectly. No issues at all.
Runs perfectly at Fantastic settings on my 6 year old rig. Not a single issue so far in 10+ hours of play.
Crashed at startup initially
Made it through the splash screens and then it asked me what language to use, I made my selection and it immediately crashed on newest version of Proton. Forced it to run in 5.0-.10 because most of the reviews here used that version and it works perfectly.
DEMO: Tried the demo from the Steam Autumn Games Festival. Game immediately crashes upon launch.
Just sound, no picture.
This was a demo. Audio plays but visuals do not. It's like the screen is transparent and you just keep seeing whatever window was open when you launched the game.
Demo only: Ran pretty good for an Alpha Demo. The full release will probably work great.
Some minor hiccups but it is an Alpha build so that's to be expected.
Just a menu
Was able to get to the menu and change the options. But when I clicked "New Game," some text came up explaining 'this is a demo, yadda yadda, leave a review, blah blah blah' then, nothing. I was still on the same menu only now I couldn't select anything.
