Has a bit of stuttering at the beginning like most DirectX games do on Wine but it quickly settles down and is very enjoyable.

On the 7.03 Valve Proton, the game ran very poorly, switching to the GE version fixed the perfomance issues. Also I have to run the game on "Low" settings even with GE
It will crash to VR Home about 30% of the time when switching levels. Either loading a new run or returning back to the Hub, anytime there's a loading screen basically.
Sometimes, it will get stuck loading either the other players or the hub it self. It will just 'spin' forever saying connecting to X
It's pretty rough around the edges, but I think with some time updating Proton and the VR software itself it should be better in the future.

After getting to the Streets level I also experience the 1-2FPS gameplay. It appears to be something loaded into memory as the main menu which ran just fine before will now be just as laggy if you quit out of that level, it carries the bug back. If you load straight into the zombies mode it's fine but I would like to play the campaign again.
Game crashes to Unity crash/bug reporter on every Proton Version newer than 5.13 including GE's custom versions.
If you can, please fix the slowness. Thanks and much love.
If you have this game installed on a second drive then you'll get a black box that quickly closes after launch. Undeadbydawn has the fix.
Worked about a week ago, like everyone else that recent update killed it
If you can avoid the update for find an older version online I imagine it would still work fine.
Native Version Broke
The AI is stuck for me as well for the native version, switching to any proton version fixes it. On my Desktop, the native Linux build works just fine (The AI actually moves). It's strange
Make sure you run Proton 5.21 GE 1 and completely delete the videos folder from the directory of the game.
(https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases) Download the Proton 5.21 GE here
The game has the normal proton hitching when translating lighting and other DX calls into VK. After looking at maps for the first time all the slowness went away and the really simple custom zombies map that aren't made by treyarch usually load all the way in seconds. All the hitching went away for me after a while, unlike some other people's reports who seem to be having more issues.
Secondly, if you're playing splitscreen make sure to connect the controller before you start the game. Like all other current proton versions it doesn't let the controller connect after the game starts.
Works on my desktop just fine
Hopefully this report doesn't just completely overwrite the old report. On this machine it actually was able to start a couple times but I shut it off just assuming it was working now. After trying to reopen it just stays on a black screen with no steam overlay pop-up or the framerate in the top.
The times it did boot, it showed that black screen for a scary long time and then eventually went through. I let this sit for long as I thought it could possibly take without just being stuck.
Desktop is a Ryzen 9 3900x, laptop has an Intel i5 9300H so maybe it needs a ton of processing power to get through some call translation hangups on boot, idk, I'm not a programmer ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Everything works great, all the videos even play now which they didn't used to. Just the workshop somehow broke across all the proton vers.

I also can't get Workshop content to work anymore. I thought it was just me as there were no reports about it on here. I've tried switching back to older Proton 6 versions as well as GE's custom varients. Nada.

Thanks to the script that @lucaisstudio mentioned, https://github.com/Sowd0404/linux-bo3-custommaps-fix custom zombies can finally be played again
Works Perfectly out of the box
Played co-op with someone for a couple hours, no issues.
Just install and play
Created User.ini file in game's top-level folder with gmpcr_unlock_frame_rate = True
as the contents, allows 60 fps
Requires some file manupulation for 60 fps (create a User.ini file in the game's folder with "gmpcr_unlock_frame_rate = True" as its contents), other than that, I was surprised by how well it performed.
Works perfectly OOTB
Works perfectly
Works really well on the deck and is really fun to play there too.
Works great if you're playing the game normally and I imagine most people wont finish this game.
Used Proton-5.9-GE-7 game worked great OOTB
Final cutscene with president didn't have any audio and froze halfway through. Skipping froze the whole game
Works great out of the box. No framerate issues between loading levels and other stuff you typically see with 'Wine' games It just works
Works Great
Everything works out of the box, I noticed the new game area you are in for the first 30 seconds of the game ran around 20fps but the 'real' game ran perfectly. Devs probably don't care to optimize it since you're barely there.
Runs very well out of the box. No tweaking required.
Sometimes the game will run at about half the framerate it normally does or just has a lot of stuttering. I find restarting it or also sometimes switching to 5.9 GE proton will help but it's never permanent.
I found it only works perfectly on 5.0.9. All the GE 5.9 versions were causing the framerate to drop when playing out of the box.

Day one of release the game ran only at 30 fps, but after every patch from the developer and the release of Proton 7.0 it's much better I get 60 fps just about everywhere I think on 'High' settings.
If you're on AMD you're probably laughing. The rest of us probably have to wait a bit longer.
If you turn your controller on before or after the game starts it wont work. It has to be during the intro studio title card scenes for it to connect. The earlier past the small Forza title card that shows up before the game goes full-screen the better. As in, it will have rumble support when you drive over the rough terrain or get into a wreck. Other than that, it controls just fine once the game has hooked into it correctly.
It seems to crash on Nvidia GPUs as AMD users don't report any issues. It's already a lot smoother for me however since I first tried it a couple weeks ago. Less hitching as you drive across the world.
I'm using Proton Experimental to launch. Other have said Proton GE 6.12 worked for them but I can't get it to launch.
It went to being pretty frustrating to play before but now is enjoyable if you just keep the car the game gives you when you spawn.
gamemoderun mangohud WINE_FULLSCREEN_FSR=1 %command%
Controllers vibrations still dont work most of the time. I think if you connect the controller through bluetooth as the game is already starting it sometimes makes it work.
It crashes way less frequently after the release of Proton 7.0, it still seems to crash in the menus and when swapping to some cars.
7/10
Works Great
Game started out in 800x600. Had to switch to 1280x800 in the settings.
Once the window size was correct, the game worked very well.
Works really well on the Steam Deck
Some text is pretty small
The game is pretty old and dead, the lobbies are empty but they still work.
Runs 60 FPS everywhere OOTB, also controls very nicely with the Steam Deck without any controller configuration.
Started, heard the intro cinematic. Nothing appearing on the flatscreen or in VR
Does not boot
The game now Crashes with a Unreal crash handler after the Anti-Cheat loads
When the anti-cheat loads in the bottom right completely, a Unreal crash handler pops up and it crashes back to the launcher.
Works on the Steam Deck but not on my Linux Desktop, Pop OS
Game starts at wrong resolution, just opening the settings corrects it.
RIP, this was a cool game if any of you got to play it when it existed.
It had a lot of promise, I dont see why it didn't take off, even Pewdiepie played it.
Everything works great, great experience on the Deck
The game has a launcher that needs to be operated with the touch screen or mouse touchpad controls (Steam button plus touchpad)
Once you hit play on the launcher the game can be fully controlled with the gamepad controls
