Occasional graphical stutters near/in the school.
Some Stuttering
Though the game was crashing right after the ending of "Hattrick vs Galloway" mission. I've managed to fix that with info taken from this guide: https://steamcommunity.com/app/12200/discussions/0/490124466466876157/ I used "protontricks --gui" to set Windows version to XP..... And I Used environment variables PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 PROTON_USE_D9VK=true PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1
Finally a good experience without having to make any adjustments.... Just install and play
Campaign, Multiplayer and Zombies running smoothly
Good experience with Proton Experimental and the "RADV_PERFTEST=gpl" variable (I put it in the /etc/environment file)... This only works on Modern AMD GPUs...
This is a function that is still in the testing phase, so the variable is needed... Very soon it will no longer be needed...
I added some parameters to the Boot Options that made the game run better on my Vega 3 GPU:
LD_PRELOAD="/usr/$LIB/libSDL2.so:$LD_PRELOAD" R600_DEBUG=sisched,zerovram,pd,forcedma mesa_glthread=true %command% -nojoy
I'm also using Feral Interactive's GameMode, installed it with "sudo apt install gamemode" and enabled it by adding "gamemoderun% command%" to the Startup Options
In the end, my Boot Options looked like this:
LD_PRELOAD="/usr/$LIB/libSDL2.so:$LD_PRELOAD" R600_DEBUG=sisched,zerovram,pd,forcedma mesa_glthread=true gamemoderun %command% -nojoy
Works "Out of The Box" on my Athlon 200GE with Radeon Vega 3 Graphics
Out of the box with Proton 6.3-8
Depending on the resolution you set, the game goes out of full screen during loading... But you shouldn't have problems with your screen's native resolution
With Proton 6.3 the game ran with excellent performance and no problems so far
My Setup
Athlon 200GE (2/4) APU with Vega 3 (1GB Dedicated) 2x4GB DDR4 2400MHz
To get the game running you have to remove the GFWL folder from the game's root directory and extract the files from this archive (https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/576-bulletstorm-xlivedll/) into the game's root directory before launching the game for the first time.
Small artifacts in the Menu and Driver Selection, but apparently the gameplay is 100%
DX12 performance lower than DX11 but probably a hardware limitation
DX12 working "Out of the box" with Proton 5.13 Impressive work of the Linux community
Performance lower than DX11 on my machine, but probably a limitation of my Hardware
Há algumas falhas nas árvores, quando você passa por elas, elas ficam estranhas
No Proton Experimental o jogo fica travado na tela de avisos..... No ProtonGE, funciona normalmente... Uma curiosidade é que se eu minimizo o jogo, quando volto, o desempenho piora.... Na primeira vez que abro o jogo, ele roda na média de 30 a 40FPS.... Se eu minimizar e voltar, ele passa a rodar a 25FPS
Out of the box with Proton 6.3-8
I had tested it with ProtonGE 7.0 but I had problems
With Proton 6.3 the game ran with excellent performance and no problems so far
My Setup
Athlon 200GE (2/4) APU with Vega 3 (1GB Dedicated) 2x4GB DDR4 2400MHz
Not working anymore via Proton
I ran the game a few days ago via Proton, however, after the latest Proton updates, the game closes right after the Splash Screen
Out Of The Box
I tested the game in several distros and they are all running very well, I didn't get to test the game on Windows for comparison, but here it runs at an average of 40FPS, although, defining Vsync as "half", lock at 30FPS and so , the stability is 100% good
Running well on Intel HD 4000 and also on Vega 3
I don't know how, but Vulkan just started working on my Intel HD 4000 after I spent 2 years trying to do this, and with that GTA runs at an average of 25FPS at 800x600, I removed the shadows by the settings file in the Documents folder.... The game also runs very well on my Athlon 200GE with Vega 3, without shadows, with the other settings in "High" at an average of 40FPS (720p)
Quebrado Após Criminal Enterprise
Após a última atualização (Criminal Enterprise), o jogo está quebrado, muitas vezes, congela assim que inicia, mas às vezes demora mais tempo, porém congela e fecha.... Triste
gamemoderun %command%
After today's last update from ProtonGE (7-33) the game is working again and now I am no longer having the problem of textures stopping loading and the game crashing.... Now it is working perfectly
Forçando o Proton Experimental, o jogo funcionou sem problemas
gamemoderun %command% -vulkan
Frequent frame drops and stutterings
Valve games never run with good stability on my Linux machine, I often face frame drops and stutterings... But using the Native version on Vulkan and with the XanMod LTS Kernel, the experience is better than ever.... If I enable Vsync, the gameplay is quite stable but Valve games don't do well with Vsync, the impression is that it's running at 30FPS, but it's stable
Runs perfect out of the box.
I just enable Vsync, because otherwise some graphic defects are noticed
Occasional crashes and drop frames
I was experiencing a lot of crashes and dropped frames, so I added "-dx11" to the Startup Options and this issue was resolved.
I'm also using Feral Interactive's Game Mode.
I installed it with "sudo apt install gamemode" and enabled it by adding "gamemoderun %command%" to the Startup Options
With Proton 5.13, the Joystick stops responding randomly .... I had no problems with Proton 5.0
With Proton 5.13, the Joystick stops responding randomly .... I had no problems with Proton 5.0....... For AMD GPUs, I recommend disabling Vulkan's Shader Processing via Steam Settings, performance has improved significantly after I did this
In the latest versions of ''Default'' Proton I was experiencing several performance issues (small crashes, frame drops, etc.)
However, using ProtonGE, the game is running very well, without problems and with excellent performance
