Manchmal fängt das Spiel an, nicht mehr starten zu können. In diesem Fall habe ich es einfach neu installiert, damit es wieder funktioniert hat.
EA Launcher has broken the game finally. The launcher is startimg but tells me that the game is not yet published.

tried proton experimental/ge.9.1 and 7. 7 lutris installed ea app
set directx = 1 in fifasettings.ini reinstalled ea app in lutris. tried multiple proton versions. alot of hassle. havent got upto fixing the black screen issue as of yet

Running the game with gamescope fixes being unable to Alt-Tab out of the game
In the FIFA 22 launcher that shows up when the game launches, mouse input doesn't seem to be detected (keyboard input works). I'm not sure if this is due to running the game with gamescope.
I've lost my cloud saves 5 times so far (thrice on Linux and twice on Windows, so it doesn't seem to be Linux-specific) when uninstalling and reinstalling the game at a later date. I've also faced this issue with FIFA 23, so I think it's a longstanding issue.
Back when the game used the Origin launcher, everything worked perfectly. But the new EA launcher is very unstable and often does not even launch (it shows "preparing game" and then crashes). Multiple attempts to launch are required, but when the game does launch, there are no further stability issues.
Played multiple online matches with my friends and didn't face any issues.
Local multiplayer works without any issues.
The switch from Origin to the EA launcher has made it difficult to play this game on Linux, as the EA launcher often fails to start. Additionally, cloud saves seem to get screwed up very often, although, this issue seems to occur on Windows as well. Overall, what was once a near-native experience has now become very poor and janky.

My cloud saves from when I was playing on Windows were missing, and I had to start over with a new save (I lost my settings as well as my career mode progress). However, I have seen people report this issue on Windows and on consoles as well, so I'm not sure if this is a Proton-specific issue.
FPS drops quite a bit during loading scenes (stadium/match overview on match day, training ground before the match, etc.). The FPS drops aren't as bad on Windows.

Added the hotkey to the EA App Overlay
EA App launcher bugs out sometimes
Depending in the game mode, sometime the game crashes the whole steam deck and a hard reset is required
Volta game mode is bugged and unplayable. That mode also sometimes fully crashes the Steam Deck, hard reset required
Some matches in seasons game mode have huge connectivity issues

EA app launching can be persistently bugged
You'll have to manually choose 16:10 in the game launcher's options. Either way, in menu, the screen is set at 16:9
Game seems to run at lower fps during scenes
It is playable, but you'll find looking for more screen space. Look into using a USB-C hub to play with an external monitor.

Exactly the same when playing by controller on PC. Just a little bit hard to see the ball
7W - 1100 Clock - 45FPS - 45HZ

often connectivity issues
puttin the steam deck into sleep mode while playing makes the game unable to connect to the serves when you resume, requiring you to fully restart the game
sometimes unable to start after steam update, need to validate the game file to get it back to work
validate games file again after steam update or ea app update
Unplayable slideshow, despite me having tried a number of fixes suggested on this page. Also, the EA app becomes broken every now and then

Changed the DIRECTX directive in the ini file as suggested
The application runs smoothly on both Steam Deck and external monitors when connected through a dock station.
Works perfectly fine on Steam Deck. However, to play it, you will need to use an earlier version of Proton. I used version 7.0-6 in my case.

Had to disable Steam Input for dualshock4 to work
Played a couple of matches in online seasons. It's perfect.
Steam input doesn't work. Set steam input to "forced off" at game properties in controller options.
Go to "/home//.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1506830/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/FIFA 22/" and open fifasetup.ini. Set "DIRECTX_SELECT" to 1 or you will experience crashing.
Po kliknięciu w grę wyskoczyło okno logowania się do konta EA, po zalogowaniu gra uruchomiła się sama bez żadnych błędów. Grę uruchomiłem na Proton 7.0-4
If you're unable to scroll in dropdown menus with a joystick, change the controls to include a trackpad mapped as the mouse. Then move the mouse away from the dropdown and the joysticks should work as normal.

DIRECTX_SELECT = 0 to DIRECTX_SELECT = 1 in /steamapps/compatdata/1506830/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/FIFA 22/fifasetup.ini
It's been about 2 weeks since I've not been able to start fifa. I've been getting the purple screen of the EA app but there is no text in the screen. I've updated my GPU drivers and also reinstallled the game, but no luck.
Changed the Fifasetup.ini file and replaced DIRECTX_SELECT = 0 to DIRECTX_SELECT = 1 You can find the file at the directory /home/(YOUR USERNAME HERE)/.wine/dosdevices/z:/home/nuun/.steam/root/steamapps/compatdata/1506830/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/FIFA 22

Controller right stick input would sometimes drift to the left, after testing the controller I could not find hardware fault and did not experience this issue on other games.
Menus felt sluggish at times, the game took longer to load than on windows while on a comparable SSD. In game performance was smooth.
The game would occasionally crash in the menu, an issue that was not experienced on windows.
Attempted to host a lobby in the "friendlies" mode, I was unable to create the lobby or join the lobby of a friend due to the origin overlay not working.
Navigate to "/steamapps/compatdata/1506830/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/FIFA 22/fifasetup.ini" and change "DIRECTX_SELECT = 0 to DIRECTX_SELECT = 1", this will ensure the game runs at and above 60FPS

Switch to proton 6.3-8 cause i had issues running with protonGE. Game will lag while loading new stuff for the first time, would recommend playing a friendly match or something first before playing FUT.
First time running a match will be problematic so I would recommend not playing online first go.
Game crashes instantly
DX = 1
So I did every fix. I played one match after restarting my PC and using GE AFTER installing origin with 6-15. It no longer opens. Just closes. I have 40+ minutes of playtime that are just me opening the game while the exe does not launch. BORKED
occasional stuttering
Crashed after games, in the career mode menu, while loading into a division rivals game
I had the game crash on me while it was loading into a division rivals game but I was able to get it to work the second try.

I've played the Game for over 300 hours by now, and while it can be played well, it is impossible for me to play it seriously competitive.

Carrer mode don't starts and crashes the game avery time i try
Installed first on Proton Experimental and 7.0.2, but Origin wouldn't run in either case. Had to remove the prefix folder from the app id folder and rerun on 6.3-8 to run the first time.
Origin and launcher menus require you use the touch screen.
You need to force exit. This also happens when running the game on Desktop mode.
You need to use an earlier version of Proton to install Origin, but once everything is running, you can switch to a newer version and it will run without issue (save for the forced exit)

Sometimes you have to tap somewhere in the corner to position the invisible mouse coursor aways from ui elements, because it blocks controller inputs when it's on a menu item
Origin is a little bit annoying. But that's to be expected. When exiting the game you have to force close it from the overlay. Besides that it runs great

At times it cracks
Escaping from Fullscreen doesn't restore it at times
Some controllers were wrongly mapped, others are working great.
Without custom command and configurations hacking it would not work as expected, leading to a black screen
In addition to my feedback below, I would like to add: On initial installation, origin may not be installed with ProtonGE. So use Proton7.2 for origin installation. You can then use ProtonGE.

I had to run steam using:

After this command, was able to install origin and then just changed DIRECTX_SELECT = 0 to DIRECTX_SELECT = 1 in steamapps/compatdata/1506830/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/FIFA 22/fifasetup.ini

from DIRECTX_SELECT = 0 to DIRECTX_SELECT = 1
Encountered an error:
