started with proton experimental, which is by default on, but newer versions don't seem to work for me, some don't even launch
Changed OS, tried Ray Tracing and it works
a 'squeaky' noise comes through my speaker
I couldn't try RT on Zorin, don't know why, however, in Fedora it worked out of the box. Both are great experiences, RT isn't worth the performance hit imo...
kicked me out of the game every few minutes
claims to be linux native, but didn't launch until forced through proton
audio was crackling with one of my audio interfaces (solved by restarting it)
fullscreen does not work properly, borderless fs does
online doesn't work, can't connect to the servers. otherwise, native has improved a lot, it used to not even launch unless using proton, thank you developers!
this game is one of the best native experiences i've had gaming in linux. it simply works! no workarounds nor need to use proton.
being a collection of games, there are many fail-points. some of the games do not even start.
while i played though the whole game with the problems i experienced, i don't think it would be that enjoyable an experience for everybody
known crashes when saving and loading during combat (also happens on windows, soooo...)
it freezes for a few seconds quite frecuently, unfortunately :(
still a good game, tho. i'd give it a shot
the monitor was set at 720p at first, the game didn't go fullscreen until i changed it to 1080p
did not detect switch pro controller, but did detect xbox 360 controller
works effortlessly, but had to use the Steam Beta Client
tried local multiplayer and it worked perfectly, just some issues with cloud saves :(
cloud saves don't seem to work
sometimes visual glitches make it impossible to play, but a simple restart is enough to stop them
did not detect switch pro controller. wireless xbox 360 controller was sometimes laggy.
2 or 3 crashes throughout my 50+ hours of playtime
this game is genuinely a masterpiece, and i am glad to be able to play it in linux with no issues :D
Proton Experimental
use proton! running native it crashes after one hour of gameplay.
it seems to be a problem with my setup, the game doesn't send audio to my mixer but it does send it to my other interface. may be 'cause my mixer is set to 48khz while the interface isn't.
volume is inconsistent. the problem may not be proton, tho, given recent reviews. also, the changed the best song in the last update :(
switched to proton for controller detection (8bitdo Ultimate)
crashed once, took steam with it
if your controller is supported natively, there's no use for proton here, runs natively
forced proton for controller compatibility
in native, some controllers aren't detected
singleplayer runs well
none of my controllers work with either native or proton version... bummer :/ still really fun with a keyboard, tho
by not detecting controllers, it's basically impossible to play
works flawlessly, but multiplayer froze sometimes
note that repentance is no longer linux native, so you'll have to force the game through proton to play the dlc. works perfectly, though!
when native, some audio fx play every few seconds after first being triggered
when native, shadows look jagged nad some textures are buggy
when native, taking screenshots in certain areas of the game freezes the screen and stops you from continuing
this game won't launch with any version of proton
i tried it a few days later and it works now? not sure what changed...
minor issues where the dialogue boxes stay on screen or appear when they shouldn't.
