They recently re-enabled the online features (for everyone, not specific to Linux) and it works perfectly.
Plug and play, awesome game.
Some sentences cutting at the very end, very minor.
Alt-tab out and in and out to release the mouse pointer. Also sets the game to windowed mode which needs to be switched back to full screen, annoying.
Requires Proton GE, doesn't launch otherwise. Annoying connection pop-up in the settings sometimes blocking for 5 seconds.
Some low FPS due to 8-year-old notebook
Rare crash when alt-tabing.
Works fine on my old laptop.
Graphical related crashes in maybe 2 places, looking down and moving away allows to pass throught the places.
Native works better for me. However, I had to disable Steam Cloud saves or the game wouldn't start. When a save takes time to load, moving the mouse seems to help.
Simplest method from the new update 4.0 is to GE-Proton7-41 and change to DirectX11 in the new (useless) Gog launcher, no command argument actually needed if you just want to play the game. If the hair is now short, disable Nvidia hair works in the game graphics settings. If the camera is now too close, disable the new camera settings in the game graphics settings.
EA Origin bullshit will sometimes interfere with launching the game, just retry.
