Sometimes takes a few restarts to get to the initial menu
Sometimes there was some screen shaking already in menu on startup, which continued into the game. Toggling v-sync usually fixed this.
Early game the crashes are to a minimal, but at the endgame you get very frequent crashes
Almost at every startup I couldn't get past the initial loading screen, which required a hard restart of the Steam Deck and the game to make it work again. Sometimes took up to 10 minutes to get through this game, which caused lots of frustration.
I played through the storyline as I wanted to enjoy this title, but after the storyline I immediatly quitted playing, because of all the frequent crashes in the Item World.
The Item World is the main content for the endgame, but putting some hours in an item and then crashes out-of-the-blue without an auto-save in between made this a horrible experience.
Throughout the story line I noticed less issues and enjoyed it, start up was a hassle at times because of the 'stuck' loading screen, but if you can get past it, it was really stable.
Had to do the same as Siosm suggested for the overall Linux report:
- Launch the game once, you'll get a black screen
- Force close it / it will crash
- Get into Desktop mode and navigate to your Steam library
- Select the game and choose: Manage > Browes local files
- Edit the "options.ini" file and set: ''Driver = DirectX"
- Go back into Gaming mode and launch the game
Set limit to 30FPS/Hz
Text is pretty small on the Steam Deck screen itself
NTT works as well, just install it through wine and swap the nuclearthrone.exe and the NuclearThroneTogether.exe
On the Steam Deck the experience is (beside performance) identical to the console version but with the PC marketplace
Added buttons to potions on back pedals
Maxed the Refresh rate & FPS to 50 and lowered all settings to lowest (you wont see any difference) as this prevents a hot deck
On logging in on existing characters you see some missing textures which take some time to reload (like 5-10 seconds lag spike on login)
On some graphic heavy areas (especially act 6) you see some dips to 40-45
Steam achievements don't unlock when playing with controller input. You can switch to keyboard on character select and log in as that character, after that press H on your keyboard (Steam button + X) to unlock the previous achievements to Steam as well
Works perfectly fine with customized controls. Exit the launcher after starting the game, because it will lag your game a bit.
Customized some buttons to own preference
Set the game to 40hz and had a 12 TDP limit to prevent to fan going loud
Save game times (as in which hour/minute it is saved) are sometimes not correct when not closing the game, but sleeping instead. This isn't a gamebreaking issue, but might annoy some people more than the other. Restarting the game and saving fixes this.
When FPS is not limited it can give a stuttery experience, limiting to at 40hz seems to do the trick, this still will gives drops of 1-2 fps at some heavy scenes.
Got to about a third of the game with my current hours in the game, a very enjoyable experience even with downgraded graphics and lower FPS.
There are a few community controller layouts which makes navigating and closing menu's in the game a bit easier.
