Since upgrading to a 5800x3D I appear to be GPU bound, limitting my fps to 30 on different maps with certain cars, however I plan to upgrade my 1060 to a 6800xt and will remake this report when I do so.
Works completely fine, however with the new graphical updates you may need a beefy CPU and GPU. The game does also reccomend 32GB of RAM
gamemoderun mangohud %command%
lots of stuttering (up to 15 seconds long at some points) and reduced framerate (by 10-20fps) if run on a hard drive. these issues are mostly fixed when running on an ssd. game crashed after zooming in to the city to focus on a building while running on a hdd
I have had some issues where the background music stops randomly, but it does resume eventually
I have not tried multiplayer, however i do see bloodstains and messages around the world which suggests to me that it should work fine. EAC runs fine on start up as well.
Game runs out of the box, haven't tried it without custom proton yet. This appears to work better on pascal cards than F1 2021 because 2018 uses DX11 not DX12.
Game starts, but crashes when starting any race or time trial
Game starts, but crashes when starting any race or time trial. The menu works, but runs very poorly. This seems to be related to pascal cards but not amd or newer nvidia cards.
The framerate is not ideal and I have tried multiple versions of proton and multiple different launch options.
gamemoderun DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
The framerate is half of what I get on windows with high settings and medium ray traced reflections on windows and the lowest settings on linux, this seems odd as all the other reports show no indication of significant performance issues. This is even more significant since I tested F1 22 running under a virtual machine using single GPU passthrough. For reference on windows I get 80 fps, and on linux i get 30-40 fps. Two other people with similar PCs get the same performance issues that I do on linux.
Performance is the same as on windows, every feature works as intended and I have encountered no issues with the game.
Performs terribly on some tracks for my hardware, probably down to denuvo
runs perfectly fine just like f1 22, 2021 and 2020
gamemoderun vk_radv %command%
stability is very inconsistent, i am able to play for 4 hours with no crashes, other times it crashes after 5 mins. the crashes arent usual crashes too, the game just freezes and doesnt unfreeze. it wont close by alt+f4 or by pressing close in steam, i have to use KDEs system monitor to kill the process.
Game no longer starts properly depending on the proton version used.
mangohud gamemoderun vk_radv %command%
When using GE-Proton8-28 and Proton Hotfix, the game goes through the initial playground games and turn 10 intros, then freezes on the main menu. With GE-Proton9-10 and Proton Experimental, the game freezes right away.
Im only running GE proton as thats what I use as default
Works exactly like it does on windows.
Glorious Eggroll Proton would be recommended, but is not needed. Runs with no tinkering or problems at all.

Some crashes relating to graphics, these were fixed by updating my kernel and drivers. The start commands do help with reducing crashing. Since updating my kernel and drivers and adding the commands, I have not had any crashes. I am not sure if the commands will work on AMD cards.
No problems what so ever, works just like it would on windows.
Red Dead Online works with some tinkering, just make sure that your kernel and drivers are up to date and use the launch options, however I am not sure if they are able to be used for AMD cards. I have tried it without tinkering, and it would crash a lot more often and sometimes wouldn't start, again I'm not sure if this is the case for all GPUs.
gamemoderun vk_radv %command%
Any issues I had were purely down to my incompetence, I had to verify game files because it wouldn't go past the loading screen, then I had to update the kernel and gpu drivers because it would crash at the same spot each time. Other than those issues which are no fault of the game, it runs just fine and as id expect based on system requirements
