Game works out of the box on Steam
Multiplayer worked well, was able to both host and join lobbies with my friends online.
No tweaking required, everything in this game seems to work perfectly.
Crashes in Xen a couple times, but was still able to complete the game
The Linux Native port of this game is terrible and has a lot of visual artifacts.
Playing the Windows version of this game through Proton (Properties > Compatibility > Check "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool"), the game runs fairly well until you get to Xen. I would recommend using this over the Linux Native version.
Game works perfectly
Played from start to finish in about 30 minutes, didn't notice any issues or require any tinkering.
Game works great out of the box, didn't have any issues with it.
Not able to play in windowed mode, fullscreen works fine.
Native version would not launch for me, so I had to try this instead. The launcher seems to break, however after running these commands in the "~/.steam/Steam/steamapps/Borderlands 2/Binaries/Win32" directory the game runs perfectly: rm Launcher.exe
and ln -sf Borderlands2.exe Launcher.exe
Game seems to work fine
There were no lobbies online at the time I tried so I couldn't test multiplayer.
Game runs fine, and you are able to get to the main menu and start the game. However once you start playing the controls don't work. The game has no controller support. Tried remapping the controls in the Deck settings for the game, as well as an external keyboard and mouse. No luck getting either to work.
Licensing for the game is broken on Linux in general
If you purchase the "Complete Edition" of the game, you're not going to be able to actually play it. Both the Linux Native and the Proton versions of the game have this issue.
The game thinks that you should only access the demo, and will not let you actually play the game you paid for.
Game launches, not much else works
You can get to the main menu (background video is broken), but as soon as you try to start a new game it will crash to desktop. Issue open on Proton GitHub here: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/5818
Everything worked flawlessly out of the box.
I've played this game for over 1300 hours on Steam using Windows, switched back to Linux recently and everything worked perfectly. No tweaking required.
Game installed and ran perfectly
Game seems to run flawlessly, I was able to play for about 5 hours today without any issues. Performance is good, no graphical errors, and no tweaking required.
Game works perfectly
No issues, just installed and ran. Was able to play through every level with no issues.
Game worked flawlessly
Didn't 100% the game, but I beat the entire story. No issues with it at all, didn't try the gamepad support though.
Game crashes on startup
Unable to even launch the game, tried deleting the Proton prefix and verifying game files. No luck with getting it to work.
Game runs perfectly
Ran through the whole thing and it seems to be fine, didn't notice any issues.
Works perfectly
I've played 130 hours as of now and haven't noticed any issues with it.
Works perfectly after a couple tweaks. Arch/Manjaro users can follow this guide: https://gist.github.com/CorruptComputer/509e18b8ae8ac0612b1817ab85bc61f6
As long as you follow the instructions on his GitHub for the install process it works flawlessly.
