After forcing the game to run using Proton GE, it booted up perfectly to the main menu screen. I played a few rounds of training games and looked around the games various interfaces
This game works right out of the box, no proton required
This isn't a singleplayer game to begin with, and it works perfectly
At first I tried the proton layer since this is a windows game nativly, and it wasn't working. I gave it a shot without any proton active and it worked perfectly. No problems observed
The only slight annoyance I encountered aside from the impartial vsync, was the loading zones for me. Whenever I encounted a new area to load in, the game would completely freeze, hiccup, freeze, then resume as if nothing happened. It doesn't happen to often so it isn't too big of a deal for me
I do not know if I was the chosen one, but the game worked just fine for me. I used the latest version of Proton GE (at the time, 7.47) to run the game, got through the launcher, and through the intro scenes of bootup. It just worked for me
Good old Bloons TD 5
This game worked right out of the box with steams recommended version of Proton at the time of writing (7.0.6). I also tested the game using the latest version of Proton GE at the time of writing (7.47) and encounted zero issues there.
I played this game way back in the day on Xbox once upon a time, and I was happy to find out it plays well on Linux. Happy gaming.
The game ran basically perfectly for me aside from my windowed and borderless fullscreen issue. Nice.
The various windowed modes were not playing nicely. No matter which resolution I tried, it wouldn't change. Setting the game to fullscreen fixed it though. Borderless Fullscreen also had some issues for me. Defaulted to one incorrect window size
I noticed no bugs or instability while playing this game. I was able to run around, do quests, and enjoy the game normally.
For me, this game worked right out of the box with only one issue presenting itself to me. Aside from that though, everything worked fine. Connecting to the world, playing in the world, and even disconnecting was smooth. This game works for me.
First and foremost, this game worked perfectly fine for me while I ran the latest version of Proton GE at the time of writing (7.47). The typical New Vegas instability and bugs are still ever present, but nothing much you can do there except for mods. My only recommendation and suggestion is to cap this games framerate at 60 FPS and below. The games physics and such are tied to its framerate and were programed at 60. Anything above and it starts to get really wonky and broken.
What is nice about this game unlike some others, just works out of the box(I haven't tried this game without any proton layer). I had no performance issues, no visual artifacting, nothing of the sort while playing this game.
After reading past reports on this game, I was a bit nervous to test it for myself. To my surprise, the game started right up with no trouble. I was able to get into a game and begin playing. I clicked all the various buttons and menus, let the game run a bit, and spawned in a bunch of stuff to see what happened. All good. The game worked for me using the latest Proton GE version (7.47 at the time of writing)
With games that include launchers, I always get a bit nervous since they tend to mess things up. I was pleasantly surprised when everything went off without a hitch and just worked. The game ran smoothly, no noticable bugs from my time playing. Still a fantastic game today.
Yes, this game is enjoyable. However, there are some bugs and instabilities, but it works well enough :)
Textures will fail to render properly resulting in some textures being perfectly smooth, or well rounded. On the main menu screen, there will be a few blips of loading textures here and there, but nothing more than that for me
On occasion in multiplayer games, the game will randomly crash. Another thing I have noticed is at the start of a match, the game will basically freeze and load a frame every 10 seconds for about a minute before everything returns to normal and you can start playing again.
I can connect to multiplayer games like I normally would on Windows, but occasionally there will be a crash here or there. Or the game freezing once the match begins, only to resume a short while later like nothing happened.
I jumped straight to using the latest version of Proton GE at the time of writing since I had issues a few weeks ago with the then Proton Hotfix. At the end of the day, make sure drivers are up to date, latest version of proton, and hope for the best. This game truly does feel like diving feet first into halo
Cutscene audio is missing, other audio works like normal.
The game runs perfectly fine (I haven't tried multiplayer since no one I know owns this game, or even knows about it) out of the box, and almost everything is normal. As my report mentions, the audio from the cutscenes does not play. Aside from that, it works.
I am always nervous about older titles and compatibility but was pleasantly surprised when this game booted right up and just worked. I continued playing my save I started back when I used Windows for a bit and had a blast. No bugs to report on my end.
This game worked well for me using the latest Proton GE version (7.47 at the time of writing). Got through all the boot stuff, was able to change my resolution with ease. With older games, there does exist some scaling issues with text, but it is not a big deal in the slightest in my opinion. In conclusion, game works. Super battle droid, take em' down!
The game started up perfeclty fine, didn't notice any abnormal loading times, and in-game was completely playable. That doesn't mean there won't be any performance issues after a certain level of development has been reached in a world though.
The only thing I noticed that was wonky was the movie that plays whenever you install it fresh. Highly recommend deleting the movie file to get to the game faster. It doesn't have any side effects
