Stuttering of about 1 sec every 5 or so minutes.
As good as arma can be, which is not very good performace wise.
If you dont have stuttering. Messing with settings got it to go away, but im unsure what setting it was as I just turned them all down and when I turned them all back up, the stuttering didnt come back.
Ran just fine, no tinkering. Mods worked perfect too, managed to get around 150 of them no problem. I was using Ubuntu 20.04 at the time, NOT Pop!
If it works for you then you're set (minus vsync), if not you might have to play with drivers. Not too hard to get running.
Must disable vsync otherwise there is input delay.
Nvidia driver 510.54 did not work for me. The game ran, but only at <1% FPS. Unable to change any settings. Using an older driver, 470.xx worked just fine.
Please note, this game RAN FINE NO TINKERING AT ALL on Ubuntu. All problems with drivers were NOT there when I played on Ubuntu (other than vsync, that is also a problem on there). The Driver issue was just on Pop! although Pop! was using a newer driver version.
Ran just fine, no problems, no tinkering.
Input felt weird but that may have just been my setup. (I spilt beer on my mouse mat while playing w/ friends from laughing so hard)
Some micro stuttering in some areas, changing graphics settings did not fix this.
In about 10 hours of playtime I have had 4 crashes. 2 from opening catalogs in stores and 2 during cutscenes. Happens about 30minutes-1hour after tabbing out of game. If I dont tab out at all it runs just fine.
If it says im running Ubuntu then it is inaccurate, I am running OS: Pop!_OS 21.10 KERNEL: 5.16.11-76051611-generic
By default there is no audio, go to audio settings and change it so "pulseaudio" or something to fix it. There was also cracking sounds for me.
For launch options put this to fix cracking noise:
PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 %command%
Slow mouse input, fix was to run in borderless full screen and NOT full screen. Might have something to do with frame rate.
Was initially stuck checking for game content in launcher. Fix was to reinstall. Note verifying data (though launcher, not steam) took 20 minutes and did not fix it.
Use the custom proton for an enjoyable experience. https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases
To install it: (Note you will have to have "show hidden files" turned on. To turn it on lick the three bars on the top right of the file browser and click the check box.)
Go to home/.steam/root/compatibilitytools.d and place the proton file in there. Note if you do not see "compatibilitytools.d" then create a new folder and name it exactly that without the quotation marks.
Restart steam.
Right click the game in your library and click "properties..."
At the bottom you will see "Force the use of a specific steam play..."
Check the box and use whatever custom proton you put in that folder.
You're all set.
