Works out of the box on Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS running Steam
Perfectly playable on a mid tier machine and an xbox controller

Works fine out of the box
Works like on Windows
Frame limit 30 fps Half Rate Shading on TDP set to 9 FSR active set to 5
gamescope --fullscreen -- %command%
When Escaping from Fullscreen, sometimes the Window is black afterwards. Can be circumvented by running the game inside gamescope. (See prefix)
Alt-tab would cause the game to only show a black screen, fixed by setting to borderless window
- find
game.xml
in the game files, something like~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Farming Simulator 19/game.xml
- open the file and find the line containing
<renderer>D3D_11</renderer>
- change the 11 in
D3D_11
to either 12 or 10, whichever works - check if the game works, if a prompt about replacing the profile file appears, just choose
Yes
DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamemoderun %command%
Works well with mods and even with ReShade.
Worked fine with no tinkering at all, I have Proton Experimental as default and it started and ran with no problems
Ran just fine, no tinkering. Mods worked perfect too, managed to get around 150 of them no problem. I was using Ubuntu 20.04 at the time, NOT Pop!
Extreme performance issues (<10fps)
Very strong lag, not accepting multiple keypresses if made in quick succession. This might be caused by the performance issues however.
Very extreme performance issues ( <10fps), irrelevant of graphics settings (tried both lowest and on highest settings)
When I started the game, it showed a black screen for a second. After that, it crashed.
Works great out of the box.
Have noticed some texture issues with some Mesa versions. Works fine with my current (21.3.0)

won't launch at all, tried many proton versions
what's the secret?
You can play the familiar farming game!
I played the tutorials without any issues, so far a great experience
Ran perfectly even with 300+ mods installed everyone of them worked perfectly.

Worked flawlessly after reinstalling the game and proton, although Alt-Tab from fullscreen makes the game go to a black screen.
Game would go to a black screen when Alt-Tabbing in fullscreen, windowed works fine.
Ran totally fine, loaded full of mods. Dare I say it runs better on linux then windows.
Had to use proton 6.3-x To get 1920x1080 to scale properly.
press play, nothing happens
Very close to perfect experience. Some annoying white squares appears in the map but they do not spoil the experience.
Weird white squares appearing around the map after you are working in some land.
I love that the game loaded on my linux device. I have been attempting to get this game on my system for a while and finally got it on.
at times the were lags in the screen graphics but again it might be the hardware.
the game controls were a bit sluggish, but to be honest it might be the hardware.
I am not a regular gamer so I did not spend much time trying to figure it out but once i did it worked fairly good. My son always wants to play my games, when i start playing. now i can let him play with me.

Just like it should be!
Sometimes extreme input lag like up to 3 seconds after releasing a key; Tilde key for opening dev console not working.
Doesn't launch even with WINED3D tweak
Game was installed on Steam and run properly with proton 6.3.4

Works great as is even heavily modded still no issue. Proton 6.3-4
This ran flawlessly for me in Steamplay with no tinkering needed.
My overall experience running this on Linux was perfect and easy. This is not related to Steamplay, but the game itself poorly supports joysticks. It works perfectly with the Steam Controller, but I could not get it working with my Thrustmaster I used for ETS2. This is a common issue with this game regardless of platform. I use the Thrustmaster on FS 17 and expected the same with this version. So if you get this and have Joystick issues, it is not related to Steamplay. The game seems to support only a small variety of wheels and joysticks or prefers game controllers.
Works perfectly on 4.11-13, but later proton versions suffer an unrecoverable black screen when exiting menu. I always downgrade to 4.11.
Fullscreen sometimes makes black screen. I playing windowed mode.
I used custom proton Glorious Eggroll v6.5 to avoid game lags.

Works perfectly with proton 5.0-6.3 tested
controller dosen't work
Works fine

Lags
When tabbing back to game its not able to fill the screen, have to restart the game
Game lags when driving trucks
