I've tried multiple proton version, including multiple GE versions, doing mf-install in all of them.
Cutscenes wont play. Even with mf-install, I could not get them to play. The only cariation I got was either a black screen with normal audio or with borked audio.
I works fine without any customization, however, since there are no graphics options besides resolution... (extra notes)
To play in a laptop with integrated graphics, I used gamemode
, Proton GE and AMD FSR to boost my FPS (for this to take effect, you need to set a lower than native resolution and play fullscreen. I chose 720p and doubled my FPS).
Proton GE version: Proton-6.15-GE-2
Launch Options : WINE_FSR_OVERRIDE=1 WINE_FULLSCREEN_FSR=1 WINE_FULLSCREEN_FSR_STRENGTH=1 gamemoderun %command%
Frequent Crashes makes the game not enjoyable due to the nature of the game. Failing a quest because of a Crash is very upseting.
The game will regularly crash after a while. Seems to be related to the memory leak mentioned by previous reports.
Error #FFFFFFF
I've tested the game with multiple Proton versions. Even Proton 6.1 GE 2. The game never opens, as it stays stuck in the launcher. The only one that worked was Proton Experimental with special Launch Options that I found in a Red Dead Redemption 2 thread (this is for Radeon. For NVidia it should be a little different):
VK_ICD_FILENAMES=/usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/radeon_icd.i686.json:/usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/radeon_icd.x86_64.json PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 WINEDLLOVERRIDES=dxgi=n,b %command% -adapter 1 -vulkan -width 3440 -height 1440
(put your resolution in the last part)
