Works Fine on Default Settings
Shows keyboard Glyphs by default, but as soon as you press any button switches to correct steam Input lables
Definitely playable with default settings. No real issues.
Labels are for keyboard only, however all controls are mapped in default layout. (dpad/LS to move, A(enter) to fire, L5(esc) for menu options.)
Exiting the game via the exit option hangs the game, have to use steam button menu to exit
100% playable out of the box with no tweaking. Weird as most reports say to use different proton etc.. but I played from start to finish.
Perfect on Deck
Playable, but controls are a little unusual.
Need to manually select deck resolution after starting a new game as defaults to corner 800x600. Deck resolution is supported and works perfectly after manual selection.
Default mapping works, but can be tweaked if needed. Mouse (RS) is oversensitive in menus
Very playable with Proton-GE. Minor Launcher issues, but fully playable, and enjoyable on Deck.
Need to click Play on launcher each time. Touch screen works, or use Steam + RS as mouse and R2 to click.
Can be played with external keyboard.
There doesn't seem to be an easy way to configure the deck controls with either official preset, or any of the (working on pc) community ones. With more tweaking can probably get it working but it was too much effort for me. Seems to run fine though on deck so could probably be made to work.
Plays great once you pass a few initial niggling issues
To set the native resolution you have to select higher than default, then select again using mouse mode (Steam+RS, R2 Clicks) in the launcher (dismiss the keyboard with Steam+X)
Manual save, or turn on autosave in the in-game menu.
Commentary might not be as PC as you'd expect from a game these days. Nothing bad, but wouldn't make it into a game nowadays.
Great on steam deck with default settigns, only the button glyphs to watch out for.
A,B,X,Y Icons in the game dont match the controller, Icons are numbered and coloured, but doesnt affect gameplay at all once you knwo which is which. (A-Boost, X,B - Left and Right Weapon, Y - Reset)
Great on an RTX enabled PC. Not on deck.
Graphical Corruption in Menus, text overlays other text, other artifacts
Playable, but non rtx original portal is, as expected, better on the deck.
Missing textures as expected, weird face ghosting, other graphical issues.
Plays at a decent framerate (at least early in the game) but not worth playing over the original on deck. Stick to that.
Works Great with Default Settings
Default settings are fine in the launcher, just click Play!
With default settings, I used the touchscreen (mouse emulation) for this game and it works fine using L2 for RMB for inventory etc.. No issues.
Works as well as it does on Windows.
Some slight performance issues, but this is down to bad optimisation, as it played the same in windows.
Fully playable with out of the box settings.
Maybe some very very infrequent frame drops, but hardly noticeable.
Little bit of tweaking needed to get it to launch, but plays fine afterwards. Could be improved with some patches, but playabale now.
Launch the game, after getting the OGRE error, go to desktop mode, find the folder (SteamApps\Common\VectorThrust), copy the a_config.ini to config.ini in the same folder. The game will now launch properly.
Hud and all game text is quite small, but is readable
Input doesnt weork properly in the menus, you cant select anything in Options for example.
OGRE Error, fixed by creating a config.ini by copying the existing a_config.ini
