Some crashes sometimes
Crashes are rare
slight fps drops
cutscenes auto skip without ge proton
Works better then on windows. Has about 100 fps average while windows would have like 60. This is because of it converting directx9 to the vulkan api.

very light lighting issues but near perfect
Crashes when loading or when in menu, no proton versions seem to fix.

Switching to proton 6.3-8 and in windowed borderless has fixed my issues (so far) with crashing or drastic decrease in fps which locks the deck. Ran for about 2 hours without any issues before making this report. Found from Reddit so not my work (can't seem to find the user's post - sorry) but wanted to do this report for others.
Locked deck to 30fps for better battery and ran on high settings without any issues.
Did run into issues with launcher after switching to proton 6.3-8. When starting RDR2, the rockstar launcher would report an error about a newer version of the rockstar launcher and then exit without launching. This is what I did to fix it.
Go into desktop mode and navigate to /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata and renamed the folder 1174180 to 1174180_old. This is your rockstar launcher and renaming will force steam to reinstall the launcher (not the game). The 1174180_old will have your saves so you'll need to transfer those if you don't use cloud saves.
Return to gaming mode and launch RDR2 - should be good to play after launcher has reinstalled.
(Optional step) Run the benchmark test on the graphics settings page while in game. If it crashes while running that, it will crash while running normally. This is how I double checked without jumping into the game and waiting for it to crash.
Fix copied from mark 'meh' browns report. Thank you!
Doesnt seem to work with normal Proton 7
