Runs perfect out of the box
Gamescope caused cursor lock issues, but running natively through Steam resolved these issues on Hyprland
Not really tinkering, it's just I don't have the game on Steam, but on GOG.
As stated before, I only have the game on GOG. But I still wanted to see if owining games outside Steam would be problematic for gaming on Linux. Turns out it isn't. That said, launching the game through Lutris and running Wine is not ideal, stutters everywhere. But there's always the option to run the game through Steam, and Lutris itself also supports Proton.
I had to restart steam after installing the game game window would not appear on my monitor other than that pretty much click and play experience
Completed the game with no issues.
Experimental was causing animation and frame time inconsistencies circa. 12/10/23. Swapping to 8.0-4 fixed this issue

mangohud was used to document frametimes, it is not required to run
All good

Works out of the box.
Add to bind a few extra keys, and a few minor changes to the default layout.
Controls need to be customized for the game to be playable as some actions are missing in the default layout (crouching, inventory), nothing too bad though. Performance isn't amazing, but disabling v-sync in the options can give you a steady locked 40fps.
Works out of the box
Tested with default, experimental and latest GE (7.1-GE-2).
Didn't have or find any issues playing this game on any of the Proton versions.
