Borderless fullscreen acts as if the screen is zoomed in on a small window. Regular, non-borderless fullscreen works fine.
Custom cursor is not a hardware cursor and is thus limited to the game's framerate. I don't know whether or not this is Proton-specific.
Framerate is limited to 60. Also hitches occasionally in menus.
Native build won't even launch for me.
7.1-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
GE, as above. Additionally, Steam itself must be launched through the command line rather than through a menu, or else the game will not launch. I have no idea why this is.
Crashes with no warning every few hours of continuous play. Turn on autosave and/or restart occasionally.
I didn't bother testing with default Proton. Very possibly works fine with it as well.
AMD_VULKAN_ICD=RADV RADV_PERFTEST=aco mesa_glthread=true gamemoderun %command%
The framerate is pretty bad, but I hear this is the case on Windows, too.
The native version is playable, but it's better through Proton. Without any launch options, it performs better through Proton, but the performance is pretty much the same with those launch options. (I don't know how many of those are doing anything helpful, but at least some of them are.)
The mouse sensitivity differs a lot between native, normal Proton, and GE.
Scrolling in menus with the scroll wheel is broken in the native version. The direction is inverted and the sensitivity is extremely low. It works fine in Proton.
The save game does not appear to transfer if you switch between native and Proton.
Incredibly unstable. Something like a 10% chance to crash any time you click a menu button. Also occasionally crashes even if you don't.

Native version crashes constantly. Didn't bother testing with default Proton, but probably works fine too.
Game opens with anti-cheat disabled, but mandatory LIVE login fails.
Some sounds sometimes get stuck playing in a loop. I'm honestly not sure this doesn't happen on Windows, though.
A few menu/hologram icons render in very low resolution at random. Again, not sure it doesn't happen on Windows.
7.1-GE-2 crashes upon opening the build menu, but this has been fixed by 7.3-GE-1.
The game is generally plagued by texture loading issues. The textures will show up if you wait long enough, but it can be a LONG time. This seems to be slightly less bad on Experimental than GE versions.
I've never had problems with multiplayer on any version, but I hear some people do.
GE doesn't have the best track record with this game in general. A while ago there was even a GE-specific crash that made the game completely unplayable. Stick with Experimental.

Hangs at random, which would be much more annoying had they not recently added real autosaving.
It's difficult to know for sure how well multiplayer is working due to the nature of this game, but I have seen other players around, so it must work to at least some degree. There are no obvious issues.
The texture loading problems were solved several months ago, but at the time, volumetric lighting was bugged and locked to minimum quality. I think this has since been fixed, but I'm not certain. The launch options are probably not necessary, but they certainly don't hurt.
LD_PRELOAD="" gamescope --adaptive-sync -r 240 -S fit -F nearest -f -- %command%
Out of the box, fullscreen intermittently causes various awful graphical artifacts. Windowed mode works fine. The Gamescope options included here allow the game to run properly in fullscreen, with the caveat that it is now fullscreen-only.
With the Gamescope options but not LD_PRELOAD=""
, the game starts stuttering horribly after about half an hour of continuous play. LD_PRELOAD=""
fixes this.
If you use these Gamescope options to play in fullscreen, make sure the resolution option in the in-game options is set to 1X. It looks very bad if it's set to 2X.

Occasional hitches in default Proton, probably related to loading. Nothing so far in GE.
Movies don't work in default Proton, but work fine in GE. It's worth the effort.
Initial loading is pretty slow and the framerate is a bit low given this hardware, but nothing major.
No significant issues, though I haven't tried multiplayer.
%command% -vulkan
Regular fullscreen does not cooperate with multiple monitors. Windowed fullscreen is fine.
It does not like VSync. FPS is reduced by >50% with it enabled. Runs fine if it's disabled.
Cursor was very laggy until I messed around in the in-game settings. Not sure what fixed it.
Launching with -vulkan
is mandatory on this machine. Game crashes before reaching the main menu without it.
For some reason it wouldn't launch after installation until I restarted the computer. No apparent issues after restarting.
Crashes very frequently when I tab out, but no problems if I don't.
I'm using GE right now, but there is no obvious difference from default. I switched to it to see if it would fix the crashes, but it didn't. Also, other people note achievements not working, but they work fine for me on both default and GE.
Low framerate especially in certain areas.
Occasionally the video just freezes completely. The game's still running, but you can't play it. Tabbing out in this state causes it to crash. Tabbing out in any other state also frequently causes it to crash.
Achievements don't unlock.
When I first started playing this game, it worked nearly perfectly on both Experimental and GE. After I restarted my computer, it crashed on launch on those versions consistently. After performing various intricate rituals, I did manage to get it to launch in Experimental one more time, but haven't managed since. If you can get it to run in Experimental, it's perfect as long as you don't tab out. Otherwise, it's guaranteed playable in 6.3-8, but with several issues.
gamemoderun %command%
Most of the tutorial runs fine, but outdoor sections are very slow, and the actual game is borderline unplayable. Without gamemoderun it was a slideshow. Graphics settings do not affect this. It's presumably CPU-bound.
Occasionally crashes when tabbing out.
Also tested on GE 7-18 with exactly the same results.
AMD_VULKAN_ICD=RADV RADV_PERFTEST=aco mesa_glthread=true gamemoderun %command%
Throwing every common performance tweak at it brings the framerate up to acceptable levels, though still well below what this hardware should be able to achieve. Also, I don't know if all of those launch options are necessary, but none of them hurt.
Launcher is buggy in general. Horrific input lag unless VSync is disabled. With VSync disabled, screen tearing occurs even with a framerate limit unless in true fullscreen.
Haven't gotten a chance to test much due to unrelated issues, but it seemed to work with the caveats above.
Window glitches out for a few frames during some screen transitions. Harmless, just weird.
Minor stuttering in multiplayer, especially toward the beginning of the mission.
Does not like it if you have multiple monitors with different refresh rates on X11. Works fine on Wayland.
Runs at a buttery-smooth 240 FPS at max settings under nearly all circumstances. However, shooting walls of certain materials is very laggy. If I shoot a Brakk at metal surfaces on the Corpus Ship tileset or almost anything on the Grineer Forest tileset, my framerate drops momentarily (<1 second) to maybe 15-30 FPS, regardless of settings. I'm not sure whether this is related to particles, audio, or something else.
Sometimes laggy, but this is presumably the same issue mentioned before.
Avoid high-pellet-count weapons on certain tilesets if the framedrops bother you. Otherwise perfect.
