It plays well out of the box
The game released less than a week ago and is suffering from some crashes in loading screen, this however is happening if the windows version as well so these crashes are not due to proton.
Got error: Not enough memory to complete operation [GDI + status: OutOfMemory]
game launches but a popup named "Microsoft .NET Framework" shows up listing the error in the title, if you click continue a black window appears and some (nice) background music starts playing, if enter is pressed the same popup shows up.
Can't play any of the games, can't write to disk.
whenever I try to start any of the games a messages showing "!NoticeMsg_CONFIRM_NOSPACE_STORAGE" shows up and I can't continue nor got back to the menu screen.
Major slowdown issues, seems to also happen to some users on windows so it's not unique to linux/proton
Severe lagginess/slowdown makes the games unplayable
Tried with the recommened steam settings, proton-GE-9-11 and proton experimental
Updated Nvidia drivers from 535 to 550 and the game worked without issue.
Couldn't access the game again after alt+tabbing, had to restart. This is fixed if switched to borderless window in the settings.
Videos will only play using Proton-GE.
Game will crash after playing some videos.
There's a workaround described here: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/6041#issuecomment-1199474786
deleting/renaming the video files in the steamapps/compatdata/871980/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/©BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc_/DIGIMON SURVIVE/Movie/
directory while they are playing will prevent crashes. Less than convinient having to this manually but at least you get to play without any other major issues.
Tinkering is needed to be able to play the game.
The game is playable out of the box, however, cutscenes videos weren't playing for me and instead I've got some placeholder screen.
Couldn't change resolution of the game in the setting only could play at 800p
Plays perfectly out of the box besides resolution settings.
Game not working after tweaking
to be able to get to the title screen I had to use
protontricks 1113000 wmp9 quartz devenum
game then plays the initial cut scene and I'm able to get to the main menu. There is noticeable freezing every couple of seconds.
after adding PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 %command% to the steam properties launch options the freeze got better but not completely gone.
Either way, when I try to star a new game, after selecting the difficulty the game just closes itself.
as long as you made adjustment using the proper tweaks you should be able to run this game flawlessly
running
protontricks 1113000 wmp9 quartz devenum
was necessary to run the game pass the initial splash. removed the PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 %command%
from the launch options and tried to tweak the /etc/pulse/daemon.conf file instead as some suggested but this only made the game crash on the initial cut scene.
removing both, the launch options and the changes to the /etc/pulse/daemon.conf file made the game run flawlessly, which it wasn't yesterday (launch day), maybe it needs a system reboot to take the installs made with protontricks properly(?).
Either way, it can be played now.
%command% -dx11
add -dx11 in the launch options for the game. Otherwise it runs just fine.
%command% -dx11
installed vcrun2019 through protontricks 1977300 --gui
framerate dips every now and then, not sure if it's the game or my machine to be honest.
switched to version 5.13-6 (not sure if necessary ) and installed vcrun2019 through protontricks. Game plays fine despite some framerate issues. Played around 5 minutes just to test it.
There are some framedrops here and there but for the most part it was a stable 60fps for me.
So framedrops when new effects show up for the first time, also the wizardry screen greatly decreases performance. No idea if this proton of the game's fault.
You'd need to set up Proton experimenta with bleeding edge for the game to work.
