Upon pressing the start button a black silhouette will pop up and disappear immediately.
It runs perfectly fine. Sadly no one is playing this game anymore. It's safe to say that this game is officially dead.
Changed the file names: BorderlandsGOTY.exe to Launcher.exe and Launcher.exe to BorderlandsGOTY.exe
I had to a bit of research how to get it running, but nothing significant. Runs alright without any major issues.
Proton 7.0-1
No tinkering besides proton. Would 100% recomend even to a starting linux user. I was able to finish this game without bugs, lags or difficulties.

Mouse cursor is invisible
The entire game runs silky smooth. The only problem is that I cannot see the mouse cursor. In a game where you do basically everything with cursor it's a big inconvenience. You can constantly smash -space- to highlight it, but that is not an ejoyable way of playing any videogame.
10/10 experience so far. I've read that some players face some updating issues but that wasn't the case for me.
Sadly this site seems like "steam only" but I have managed to run this game via Lutris trough my Epic Games Store library. Besides some controller input lags it runs smoothly.
I am impressed, stunned beyond belief how well this game runs on linux.

Idk how others got it running but it doesn't work for me. I've tried all the recommended proton versions but it does not launch.
Shame
I can start the game and see the menu just fine, but cannot play on any official server or server that has anti-cheat enabled. What a shame.
Busted
Tried to medle with Lutris in hopes of finding a way to get it running but nothing helps.
The game launches (sometimes with wrong resolution) without any major issues, but I am completely unable to join to official servers or any other server. (Even to EAC disabled servers such as deadlock).
What a shame that we cannot launch even the non-EAC servers.
Minor inconvinience: I have to restart the game after I launch it in order to fully sync audio.
Runs perfectly fine besides some minor audio issues.
Occasionaly crashes if you get an achievement.

Although the game should be native, I had to turn on the proton. Otherwise it was a perfectly smooth experience.

only windowed mode is functional
so autosaving causes game to crash - go to settings and turn off all of the autosaves options - save only manualy!
Game runs well, but it took an unholy amount of time to figure out how to get it running. Also I was a bit upset when I found out how easy it was to fix.
Little rundown how I managed to do it (hope it helps):
- Set the launch options
- Set resolution to whatever suits you but windowed
- Use proton version 6.3-8

PROTON 7.0-2 Firstly I want to thanks to all the people that shared they're tinker steps otherwise I would not get it running.
When the installer starts it appears black or flickers - just click everywhere untill it gets you trough. If the installer shows any error just restart the installation proccess.
The game itself runs smooth so far I plan to update my report after some hours in. I just wanted to add my report before I forget how did I managed to get it running.
I had to reduce the graphics for better fps. Otherwise it's alright.

The dreaded launcher crashes every time, but with the skip launcher command it works flawlessly.

I've tryed the methods others already described. ----> Switched to proton 7.0.6 -> Verified the game files -> Deleted "WebView2Loader.dll" and MicrosoftEdgeWebview2Setup.exe" -> Launched with the bypass menu option <---- And sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Idk it feels like a ritual trying to run it (you have to verify and delete files every time), but once you do you can !host! a lobby and it works (kicked after joining lobby).
Sometimes it has minor bugs but otherwise it´s pretty alright.
The camera gets stuck when using the keyboard at the same time as the controller is connected.
Sometimes the main menu becomes unresponsive and the character animations play in a loop.
