You experience the usual stutter here and there due to shaders compiling, but that gets better rather quickly.
You must use Proton 7, or else the tutorial videos will not work.
There aren't really any issues, played with controller OOTB no probs.
You can definitely feel a couple stutters when you first launch the game due to what I assume are shaders compiling, but they go away fairly quickly.
The game is entirely playable, and on my system at least it runs perfectly smoothly with all the settings on Ultra.
Very rarely some decals will flicker
When alt+tabbing out of the game fullscreen is lost, a workaround is to pause the game with Nyrna before tabbing out, and unpausing it after tabbing back in.
The MaldoHD mod works almost perfectly, obviously to install it you're gonna have to run the installer with wine inside the prefix, and I haven't bothered trying to get the bundled SweetFX to work, vkBasalt is enough for me so I'm in no hurry for that one.
It shouldn't come as a surprise this game runs perfectly OOTB, it's been whitelisted for a reason.
I just want to say that iD did a great job optimizing this, this game runs great even on hardware which barely meets the requirements.
Besides the one issue I mention, the game runs flawlessly.
I had to set my timezone to something other than Mainland Chile, because otherwise it will refuse to launch. This is a bug that all Amplitude games share.
Besides the thing I mention, the game runs actually very very well.

Once the game is running and the display settings have been set, everything runs as expected, the benchmark never went below 60.
Windowed mode is kinda wonky
The Rockstar Launcher doesn't render properly, so some navigation is /kinda/ blind, but once the game is running everything just works.
Funny thing: I couldn't get this game to run on Windows. So I can't really compare, but on Linux it runs beautifully.
It runs very well don't get me wrong, the microstutter is hardly noticeable.
There is some stuttering but it's hardly noticeable and it only seems to happen in area transitions. It might be a game issue as I've seen more people complain about it, but I'm not sure.
Game doesn't load
Installing Media Foundation allows the game to launch, but it gets stuck at the "Now Loading" screen before the Main Menu
If you can get pass the flickering videos, you're in for the full game. This isn't exactly a plot driven game anyway.
Videos on launch flicker quite violently, but gameplay is perfectly fine.
Game runs perfectly out of the box, to me it seems to run better than in Windows. If it's not better then it's at least just as good.
blaster go pewpewpewpew
There's a bit of shader stuttering at first, but after that's done this game runs perfectly.
Game used to work perfectly, but now Origin won't even install. Thanks a lot EA.
It will run perfectly if you manage to get Origin installed, but as of now it throws a 20:4 error and I couldn't find any information online on how to deal with it.
I got this game through GOG and the GameHub Launcher installs and launches it perfectly without any need for intervention or patching.
Video cutscenes are muted, which is lame but it's not gamebreaking.
Some sprites have transparency problems, some normals are kinda funky which means you can see through some walls. But when I say "some" I mean less than a handful, most of the game looks perfect. These problems may happen on Windows as well for all I know.
The problems I list don't affect the gameplay in any way, the game is enjoyable and runs perfectly.
Game runs great, the real problem here is Uplay.
Game crashes randomly, but it is actually caused by Uplay, I went to Uplay settings and disabled pretty much every feature except Cloud Saves and the game is super stable.
Uplay is also kinda finicky, the first couple times you launch it it might not show up and might require to manually kill the process, but once the game is installed and you disable the Uplay features, the game runs smoothly and is very stable.
The game launches and goes as far as the Unity splash, then crashes
I'm gonna try tinkering with it some other time, but as of right now it simply is unplayable for me with the default settings. I am using a Quest 2 and ALVR, if that makes any difference.
