Compute shaders need to be set to off - then the game will run as expected.
You must change a graphical option to turn off their custom shaders
OOTB gameplay no issues
A new minor version has been released since I last played the testlive client but it was only a small update so probably no difference
Proton experimental worked well for me
Fails to shut down
the game would not close and did not return mouse button input after tabbing out to Steam forcing a reboot.
need a better graphics card than mine.
More like frames per minute than FPS - almost unplayable
An update on my last report as I have updated the system it runs on - with a 1660 6GB super it no longer has terrible frame rate issues but runs very well on ultra settings. With the old 1050 2GB it had 5fps on basic settings.
Game runs OOTB for me (kernel 5.9 flatpak v20 now [Debian Testing OS])
1 crash in game but always crashes if tabbed out and back.
Occasional frame stutter when driving past lots of farm machinery, but only when you have say 30 or 40 vehicles in the display.
You only need media foundations if you want to see a video on how an item works, you can just ignore the warnings and hit escape and it works without this. This game needs optimization on windows but for Linux it runs just as well as it does on its intended platform, ie; sometimes sluggish framerate and long screen/newarea loading times.
runs at around 45-50 fps.
Occasionally it won't detect the steam controller and needs to be restarted
Crashed on first time to save and first time to online play
Early access so many game bugs are present for now developer is working on most of them actively
Mainly the ones it has on windows, the only linux one is to kill the game via the Steam interface after exiting.
Using Proton experimental for this one not tried other versions.
mv TaleWorlds.MountAndBlade.Launcher.exe TaleWorlds.MountAndBlade.Launcher.exe.backup ln -s Bannerlord.Native.exe TaleWorlds.MountAndBlade.Launcher.exe
First time running mouse and keyboard input was not accepted, worked after a re-launch
Crashed after 20 minutes play
Debian testing system with steam in a flatpak. Had to use an older version of glorious eggroll. Constant issue pop-up on loading, game cannot load taleworlds.psal.xmlserialisers.dll and produces a pop-up to that effect not sure how detrimental to the game that will be but it runs anyway.
I had to switch to Proton version 5.0.10 for this to run with my set-up
Holds focus
Use proton 4.11
Surprisingly no game crashes at all, I see these all the time for YouTube players but it appears to run better on Linux than windows.
Need to find the right version of Proton for you - mine was GE 5.09
Never use alt-tab or it drops to windowed mode and crashes if you try to alter it - needed to delete all associated files and re-install - losing saves in the process
Runs out of the box
I had some problems initially as it didn't seem to be present on my system at all for a few days but after it left early access today it installed itself and runs well for what I have seen so far.
Not played much of this at all but it works fine for what I have done so far.
Runs OOTB as win7 64bit but no sound available. Both normal and testing branch work but the only mods that will run are maps (from the ones I have checked out) even developers mods fail besides the map.
