Did not run from desktop, needed game mode
Various buttons for keyboard actions
If going into settings, would switch devices, would need to go in/out of settings again for control to return.
Happily ran from game mode of Steam Deck with customized controller output for keys/mouse/mousewheel functions from controller.
Would not run for me from desktop Steam (quit after display setting screen).
Works as expected
Rare crashy
Tried multiple confgurations, starting directly from steam, but found best results with Proton-GE.
When starting from Steam directly, the game crashed immediatly upon entering gameplay. I tried using a Steam native version of Proton, but the game crashed randomly. So, I moved on to Proton-GE and expreienced no issues.
Works on Steam Deck, requires controls workaround
The game defaults to an official layout, but it only works in the launcher (graphic settings) menu. Controls become non-responsive as soon as the game starts. Switching to keyboard+mouse emulation works around the issue. Some bindings have to be added for the game to be playable.
This game runs natively on Steam Deck with good performance. However the game has no framerate cap option and the in-game v-sync option does not limit the framerate to 60fps. This makes the Deck run hot, with no gain (since its screen is 60Hz).
It's native and works pretty good.
Even though you select fullscreen on the settings, it doesn't start as fullscreen. You must manually set it with a shortcut (like Super+F).
Sadly with Proton I can't continue beyond level 11. Apart from this it ran almost flawlessly.
Inventory and menu graphics sometimes glitchy, but still usable. No issues with in-game graphics.
Sometimes crashes when a level ends, but usually after saving. When finishing level 11 it always seems to crash before saving, meaning I can't continue.
Had some windowing/fullscreen issues with the native version, which I didn't have with Proton.
Runs out of the box.
The Proton version works flawlessly while for me the native linux version is crashing during startup.
Game works native on Linux. It works fine out of the box on Proton, but there is a white box visible slihgtly over half of the screen. I installed D9VK and it worked great too with this DX9 to Vulkan translation, even when testing it with the new ACO compiler.
Game works native (but only in FullHD, not any higher resolution) and on Proton out of the box even in 4k. I installed manually D9VK, but the game crashed with D9VK.
