This game works flawlessly with great performance although I noticed graphics were vastly superior in fullscreen as opposed to borderless /windowed. This could be something to do with my conf. though.Perfomance is excellent. Pacer is THE true "heir to the throne" of the WIPEOUT Lineage.

No issues at all.
Game text is small
Some minor occasional audio crackling
Can lock to 60fps at native 800p with mostly-High settings. Don't use the default Very High settings.
Fully working out of the box
Game works fully now including the videos even with regular Proton.
Menu text in campaign mode is a bit small
Use the default graphical settings and turn down screen refresh to 45-ish-Hz for a smooth and fun experience!
Works out of the box, with proper screen resolution and full controller support. The game defaults to "very high" graphics options, which results in framerates around 45fps. Reducing all graphics options to "high" allows to keep a steady 60fps.
The game can stutter a bit. I have 32GB ram with 5700xt GPU cpu 3900x so should not be lagy.

Works very well already with 6.3.6 but bideos are still missing, so better use 6.16-GE-1.
6.16-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
6.16-GE-1
Some stuttering on 4K no issues with FullHD. No one available for online mutliplayer.
Works beautifully across the board on max graphics, other than videos.
Videos at the moment (menu/billboards) show a test display, which means they'll be available via shader pre-caching "soon". You can use mf-install to get them working now, or you can just wait until they're ready. Either way it'll be a complete experience indiscernible from Windows.

videos, and video billboards (like the start line) don't work, due to lack of media foundation
tried it under a glorious eggroll version, and the latest experimental. 5.13-6 seems to work without the crashing. other versions may work...

It looks great apart from having to restart the game after every race. likely to be something fixed in later protons
5.21-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Freezes at the end of every race - needs killing
I don't find major plobrem.
Close to perfect after enabling videos w/ mf-install. Disable Esync if having frame rate issues. No players to test MP.
Disable Esync if frame pacing is bad.
Use mf-install to enable videos.
Some audio crackling, can be minimized by setting a custom latency value, but not getting rid of the problem completely. Launch option "PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 %command%" is a good starting point.
The game stutters significantly the first time playing a track without ACO. With ACO the performance is tolerable. The sound crackles during start of a race (can be reduced some by setting latency), but is okay during game.
The intro video and video billboards are not displayed, but this occurs in a mostly transparent manner (as billboards are just rendered with a static image). By installing manually media foundation, you can fix this.
In conclusion the game can be fixed to work pretty much flawlessly except for minor audio crackling. It's a close call if I would recommend this to a typical gamer. I'm giving it a thumbsdown, because I think mf-install and setting audio launch options is too much.

Audio crackling and videos do not work unless you manually install MS Media Foundation.

Video billboards and countdown signs do not work. Technically playable otherwise, though I'm experiencing an issue where performance is excellent at the start of a race but quickly degrades over time. This doesn't seem to be related to graphics settings since it happens even on the lowest resolution and preset.

There is a static/glitchy audio, and the controls using Nintendo Switch Pro Controller keep pulling right all the time.

Game works fine except that videos don't play (intro, track preview and in-game video billboards)

Game works with decent performance and audio is now also fine out of the box (was broken with earlier Proton versions). The only reason I'm rating silver is because the video billboards don't work.

Audio issues can be fixed by installing xact to the game prefix via winetricks (.../steamapps/compatdata/389670/pfx/). In-game videos do not display correctly, including the starting line countdown. There is also a strange bug that makes each race start at an extremely choppy frame rate that can only be fixed by going into the pause menu and changing the graphics quality preset to low then back to your preferred setting.

Playable without many major issues apart from performance hit compared to running on Windows. There are audio playback/volume issues and in-game video billboards don't play properly, but I'm giving this a gold because said issues seem to be common in Unreal Engine games and can likely be fixed through winecfg or winetricks.

Game launches and is playable, but frame rate is extremely erratic and prone to stuttering. This does not seem to be related to graphical quality as all graphics presets perform similarly.

Only runs with Steam launch option "PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%". Some graphical glitches and the sound is distorted.
