60 FPS cap in Deck settings (OLED)
OPENSSL_ia32cap=0x20000000 %command%
Game crashes on launch with recent Intel CPU's because of a OpenSSL related bug in Unreal Engine. The crash can be fixed with the launch option. This bug is not Proton/Linux specific, Windows gamers are affected too. See issue #5830 on the Proton github for more details.
Works natively
Works well out of the box
Worked perfectly
Ran great, lowest the FPS got was a brief dip to 93, other than that was 100+. Used Proton 5.0-7
controller not tested
Game works perfectly except that if a controller is connected game keeps pulling to the left. Disconnecting controller there is no problem. Performance was good and there is no longer a problem with the mouse floating.
I finished the game while having only two small issues:
1 Any regular controller/gamepad will cause the camera to spin around if connected.
2 The mouse movement is not very precise and at every click the cursor will move very slightly towards bottom right. This issue is fixed in recent Wine versions but not yet in Proton.
However the game can still be played in good conditions using only the keyboard (I rarely used the mouse). Alternatively it can be played with the Steam Controller set in WASD mode. Performance is good, without visual artifacts.
