Works with almost no issues
The game wouldn't allow me to escape when in "real" fullscreen. In windowed fullscreen it was no issue.
The cursor is not exactly there, where it shows up. But it is only a few pixels off, and therefore easy to guess
Just set to windowed full screen and then you are happy to game
Works great, no issues so far.
Had no issues playing game. Trackpads helps a lot to put parts precisely, where they are needed. The small screen can be annoying to see the whole machine.
Just works out of the box now.
I checked the older versions of Proton just to make sure the improvements didn't result from my hardware upgrade. While it doesn't crash in both new and older versions anymore, current Proton version doesn't require you to modify the ini file.

The game starts windowed even if the graphics options say "fullscreen", changing to windowed and back to fullscreen leads to actual fullscreen.
When waking up the computer from sleep, the game typically crashes
worked perfectly out of the box. Using the track pad is imprecise and fiddly on Deck while using default layout.

Deleted this line in cm3.ini: StartupMovies = "Movies/loading.mp4"
Change to windowed full screen instead of fullscreen to avoid crash
The game requires tweaking, that I personally wasn't able to make work. Crashes as it launches in the start menu.
I've tried installing and running Proton GE as well the experimental and that didn't allow the game to run for me passed the menu, where it suddenly crashes.
Crashing at start
PROTON_NO_D3D11=1 %command%
Game is crashing at start.
Removing last line from cm3.ini and setting PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command% launch flag didn't help.
Also tried proton 6.3-8, 4.11-13, 7.0-3 and experimental, but to no avail.
On Steamdeck:
After installation, edit the cm3.ini file in the game folder with a text editor and remove the last line. This prevents a crash on startup
Start the game to see the title screen. Then enter the in-game settings by clicking the gear icon at the top. In the Window that appears, change "Fullscreen Mode" from "Fullscreen" to "Full Windowed" to prevent a crash during gameplay.
If you experience a crash in the title screen, disable Wi-Fi by enabling airplane mode and start the game again.
Works great on Steamdeck with a little tinkering.
Didn't work loaded the menu and crashed
Crashes after the menu is visible
Delete or comment out (with a #) this line in cm3.ini: StartupMovies = "Movies/loading.mp4".
Played several levels without issues

Launch parameter: PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%
Delete or comment out (with a #
) this line in cm3.ini:
StartupMovies = "Movies/loading.mp4".
Without tweaks, it freezes fairly hard on startup, making the system need a reboot via ctrl+alt+f1 terminal because not much else from the Linux Mint GUI works after that, even if you switch desktops.
Game starts but immediately after crashes.

Works out-of-box
Played with Proton 6.3-7
Remove the line StartupMovies = "Movies/loading.mp4"
from cm3.ini
in the game files.
Game crashes when trying to exit fullscreen or Alt-Tab out of it
Läuft sehr gut, wenn man das Problem mit dem Intro-Video gelöst hat
Wenn das Fenster verlassen wird kommt man nicht wieder rein
Das Intro Video muss in der Ini-Datei entfernt werden.
Just edit cm3.ini and remove the line "StartupMovies = "Movies/loading.mp4""

Took a lot of time to figure out how to get this to work. In return, deleted savegames and crashes in seconds
Weird aspect ratio! I think it was set to 1400 × 900 something, not sure. I tried to change it and game crashed, never starting again. Kinda starts but freezes or crashes to desktop after couple of seconds.
All my Steam Cloud saves were gone :c very sad
After changing resolution (to FHD, in my case) , game refuses to launch correctly. Either freezes or crashes to desktop.
Looks like devs don't care about this game anymore. Get this at your own risk. Can be frustrating. But some puzzles are much fun.
Remove the line "StartupMovies = "Movies/loading.mp4"" from cm3.ini or the game won't progress past a black window.
The game crashes several seconds after launching. This seems to be caused by game connecting to the Steam Workshop, since I did manage to get past that after switching Steam to offline mode. Unfortunately, the game still crashes on the first level right as you are about to be given control.
Start the game with the following launch parameter: PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%
Force to use Proton 4.11.xx
Remove the line from file cm3.ini: StartupMovies = "Movies/loading.mp4".
Then, in the game settings while running, set to Window borderless.
Think to fix if game located on NTFS partition (check Troubleshooting FAQ from ProtonDB).
Window borderless only
It works fine after these changes:
1- Start the game with the following launch parameter: PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%
2- Force to use Proton 4.11.xx
3- Remove the line from file cm3.ini: StartupMovies = "Movies/loading.mp4".
Then, in the game settings while running, set to Window borderless.

Had to delete "StartupMovies = "Movies/loading.mp4" from cm3.ini, which is in the main game folder. No other tweak was necessary.
Set PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1
, otherwise game will not launch
You need to remove StartupMovies = "Movies/loading.mp4"
from cm3.ini
Couple of glitchy graphics, but not anything major
Remove the line below from file cm3.ini: StartupMovies = "Movies/loading.mp4"

Runs perfectly and smooth after one little tweak: You must edit cm3.ini (in game folder) and delete whole line "... loading.mp4". If you don`t do that, game will not start correctly.

Had to remove "StartupMovies = "Movies/loading.mp4" from cm3.ini
Mouse is slightly inaccurate but I have never played this game on Windows. I don't know if that's a game or a Linux issue.

The game works fine with DXVK, no workaround required. But the mouse is choppy in 4k on Plasma Wayland.

has alt tab issues

Requires PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command% to run on my end. Seems to play fine, but haven't played it on windows.

Minor sound issues with music i.e. stuttering, stopping to play. Everything else seems fine.

Black screen on launch

Black screen. 900+ FPS?
