The game is playable, but has a significant amount of missing models running through proton making it difficult to play.
gamescope -w 1920 -h 1080 -f -F fsr --force-grab-cursor --sharpness 0 -- force_vk_vendor=-1 %command% -windowed -dx11
Missing textures and models, made game difficult to play since you can't see rocks or poles in many areas while driving
Will not launch in fullscreen, must be launched windowed. Luckily this can be fixed with gamescope but a bit annoying.
Does not grab mouse by default (at least in gamescope windowed)
Still playable, though the game did not run well at very high settings (unclear if that's a proton issue or a game issue since friends on windows had similar performance issues)
It can work with tweaks, but overall would not recommend playing from linux unless you're prepared for the jank.
The rifle's scope cuased the framerate to drop, unsure if thats a linux only issue or not
crashed during two out of the three games i played, and crashed when the host closed the lobby after rejoining as a spectator
Steam says its open, but the window never appears
both default and force_vk_vendor=-1 %command%
force_vk_vendor=-1 %command% -dx11 -windowed
Had to force it to run in windowed (Unsure why but it worked)
Doesn't work no matter what I do. Tried Proton experimental, 9.0-3, 8.0-3, and all of the launch options mentioned in the other reports.
force_vk_vendor=-1 %command%
The furthest I got was with Proton experimental, and that just leads to a Unreal crash report. Running the executable directly via Wine asks to install the C++ Visual Runtime, and then crashes after that.
Game runs fine out of the box
The only things affecting the performance in my case are my PC specs
Most objects/shaders flickering.
Partial fix acheived with commandline argument -dx11
Works perfectly out-of-the-box
Works great. Installs and plays without issue.
Very Unstable
I installed it successfully one time, I have tried both the native and flatpak versions of steam and running it through Wine and Winetricks, the one time I was able to run it was on Proton 8.0.5 and only got it to run once, and throughout the gameplay several textures did not render. Usage of Wine will run the executable however will not let you play multiplayer.
force_vk_vendor=-1 %command%
Flares on lights produce big, blocky artifacts. the navigation poles between areas simply don't render, as well as the snow itself in some places. This did not occur on a GTX970.
Unable to launch on any proton other than 7.0
Proton experimental always yeilded an Unreal process crash report, Proton 9.0 always asked to install c++ then crashed after doin so, 7.0 would launch but wouldnt let me join or invite friends, and all other Protons failed to load.
Works perfectly except it prompts about C++ Visual Runtime installation on every boot. Couldn't figure out how to prevent that.
We had some problems but people on Windows had some problems too so it's probably unrelated to linux.
Make sure to run on Proton 9.0-3. It will ask if you would like to install runtime and UE dependancies. Allow the setup to run and it should launch as intended. I noticed it will crash on Experimental. It will launch with Proton 7.0 but I could not join my friends games and I could not invite my friends into my game via the in game friend invite menu. I created my own control layout using the "Keyboard and mouse WASD" as the template. I turned down graphics to medium/ low settings for the most part. I kept distance rendering on high.
