Achievements don't seem to work but the game runs perfectly. Used Proton 7.0-5 Flatpak community build.

The game runs great on both my laptop's dedicated and integrated gpu, so there shouldn't be much to worry about in regards to performance.
Works out of the box
Game worked flawlessly out of the box in both windowed and fullscreen, using either a controller or the keyboard. Local multiplayer worked as well with 2 DS4 controllers. As a side note, achievements are awarded once the game is closed, as it was before in Windows as well, though it feels unusual since not many games do so.

Just need to select a fullscreen resolution and enable Vsync, and it will be a smooth 60fps.
Framepacing is terrible unless Vsync is enabled, which requires fullscreen.

Played 8 hours with Nintendo Wii's Classic Controller Pro. Had some issues setting the controller up (not sure if partly Proton's fault or fully game's). Either way I had to select the used controller in menu by cycling through all controllers with numpad.

Perfect! 60fps/1080p.

Everything works out of the box. Windowed and fullscreen mode, Controller support (tried with Nintendo Switch Pro controller). Good performance a solid 60fps at all times.

Everything works incredibly-well! Right down to the controller support! Makes a wonderful addition to the number of arcade ports and arcade-styled games to play in Proton!

Runs flawlessly.

Runs perfectly out of the box. Completed Arcade-Mode with no issues.

Works for me out of the box. No one of the aforementioned tweaks were necessary.

needed rlimit_nofile modification as other reviewer mentioned, low fps bug, but that happened on windows too.

Initially could not launch. Increased RLIMIT_NOFILE to 1048576 to accommodate Proton's ESYNC feature and now it runs nicely.

Plays flawlessly out of the box.

Works flawlessly for me

Works great in full-screen after adjusting full-screen-resolution to game-resolution.

Worked out of the box without any launch options needed. Good performance and everything works.

Works perfectly (only tested in first level)

Requires Steam launch option "PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%" to run.

Complete playthrough. No issues.
