Everything worked without changing the proton version EXCEPT typing text from the keyboard. I could use the keyboard bindings for navigation, etc, but I could not type my character's name, which prevented me from starting the story. Proton 7 fixed this.
Long load times. Fixed by switching to experimental proton

When VRAM is full
tested on decade old hardware, (gtx 460M), lots of VRAM should let you play long sessions
Occasionally some sprites are replaced or "followed" by large black boxes.
The game has a significant VRAM leak, causing performance issues after a longer period of play. This also causes a large delay when exiting, as the VRAM will slowly clear out while you wait.
The rendering of a barrier during one of the cutscenes caused a crash on 5 different tries playing the cutscene. This can be skipped, but you'll miss part of the story (if you're into that).
Installed and the game ran perfectly out of the box :) didn't test controller support but i assume that works too (or if it doesn't, then steam big picture might solve that)
