Game runs perfectly out of the box
Plays great on Deck!
When choosing the widescreen option the icons/collectables get cut off so it's recommended to play in a 4:3 ratio.
The game plays great on deck and I had no issues. I have also seen that there is support for the nintedo switch online N64 controller for this game and there are community layouts that help to integrate this game to use the N64 controller.
Everything seemed to work exactly as I experienced it in Windows.
Works great on the newer version of Nvidia drivers on Linux Mint (I use the more up to date option) using GE-Proton9-1
If the game is loaded, as in you are in control of your character, the game will rapidly minimize when you try to go back into the game. You can, if you time it, input the presses required to save and quit, which brings up the title screen and reenables tabbing in
Should be able to get it running no prob with proton, if not try the latest GE-Proton and maybe Nvidia graphics
Must-play for any classic platformer fans and it works out of the box
The fullscreen option cuts the floating 3D interface (the soda bottle for your health, trinkets collected, and level) if widescreen is enabled. Unticking the fullscreen option at launch fixes this.
The only notable problem I found is listed above. The other thing I found odd is that the edges of the screen seem to curve somewhat. I don't recall this being a thing on Windows and if it is, it's not noticeable on a larger monitor. On the Steam Deck, however, the curve is a bit too sharp.
This game is an epilepsy risk on NVIDIA. You need to keep switching Proton releases to make the flashing visual artifacts go away.
Flashing sanlines, glitchy rendering
The game is pain to get properly working on NVIDIA, but at least it has an authentic feeling to it that is like having to tinker with the emulation cores and shader settings in a Nintendo 64 emulator to get the most accurate result.
You need to keep switching Proton releases, just to make it enjoyable for a single gaming session.
Ah, this brings be back to the days when I was tinkering with Mupen64 to get Conker's Bad Fur Day (one of the inspirations for this game) working.
The HUD is cut off a bit using the widescreen option.
The person below me is lying. Game is locked to 30fps, though there is a beta branch with a 60fps version available since December (haven't tried that yet).
It just werks.
Another win for corn magic.
Works flawlessly!
TDP 4w and it's all smooth 55-60 FPS
With both Fullscreen and widescreen options enabled, parts of the HUD and screen are cut off on sides. Turn off widescreen to fix this but you will have minor black bars on top and bottom of screen. Not a game breaker by any means but still.
Only with Fullscreen option enabled you can change resolution to HD. Can't recommend playing on 360p, screen is blurry. On 240p is nice, crisp and chonky!
Works as you'd expect! Surely it'll be Verified once Valve gets to rating it.
