Perfect out the box.
3 completely random crashes. The game auto saves so frequently it didn't matter.

Game would launch to a black screen and then nothing, which is new behavior. It was working fine for months with no advanced settings
After troubleshooting, found it works with PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%
has worked flawlessly during my 80 hours
I did an entire quickplay playthrough that lasted 650 ingame days on a giant map with all 11 factions. Perfect.
Works perfectly fine out of the box.
Works perfectly out of the box
It loads a long time in black screen, then it crashes.
After update 1.6.28 (February 25, 2020), the game shows a black screen and did not start. To resolve, I added Launch Options: "PROTON_USE_WINED3D = 1% command%"
No more "Slow software mode" with new Proton version! Now considering a playthrough of the game.

Got the "Running in slow mode", the menus work fine with a little lag. However, the world only shows a black screen while in Fullscreen mode on a 2k monitor. Restarted and went into Windowed and now the world loads. Seems to be working fine after that.

Essentially runs perfectly out of the box, except for complaint that the game can't detect my gpu.

It runs much, much slower than it should be.

Complained about running in "Slooow software mode" as it can't detect the GPU, but I had no issues playing on High settings.

It works just fine on my integrated GPU (I set graphics quality to Low). On startup it displays the warning: "Warning: failed to detect GPU, running in sloooow software mode. Your video card driver may be out of date. More info and special instructions for Linux at: rebuildgame.com/help.php". Not sure why it's displaying a message related to Linux when it's a Windows-only Steam Play game. Either it used to be a Linux game or they've tested it with Steam Play and added a special message. But it works anyhow.

I didn't get any graphics driver errors, and the menus seem to work fine, but the game itself is just a black screen.

I get the same mentioning that the video card drivers can't be found, and it is resorting to default (note: there's an ingame link to apparently fix it for linux, but it's leading nowhere). The game works, and can even continue cloud-saves. However: while it's not a quick reflexes game, mouse controls are severely slowed down compared to windows play.

Each time the game is launched, it shows an in-game error message (that can be dismissed) which according to the developer's website, means that the game in unable to connect to/detect my graphics card... However, the game otherwise seems to work flawlessly.
