Proton-GE 9-2 and Proton 8.0-5 did not work with this game for me, and would crash instantly on startup. Using Proton 7.0-6 worked perfectly though, with zero issues during gameplay.
Required me to switch to Proton. Even with CEFCodecFix on Native, it did not work and the game would crash on startup.
Font looks a little crunchy, but is readable.
Game was struggling to run at full speed. Not an issue with my hardware, it ran well on Windows.
I did an entire quickplay playthrough that lasted 650 ingame days on a giant map with all 11 factions. Perfect.
Runs very well.
I seriously do not recommend the native version. My modlist was memory leaking to 8GB (it is large, but it runs at 2GB on Proton and 1.5GB - 2GB on Windows), many random bugs like issues with the mouse with a multi-monitor setup, middle click panning the screen lagging the entire game to a halt when used, shadowy white font in the HUD, unable to switch in and out of full screen with alt+tab, unable to maximize or resize in windowed mode. I strongly recommend playing through Proton.
Launch option "-disable-native-gc" prevented crashes on startup. Works flawlessly.
I only tried Proton because I was having crashing issues on native. I can't say for sure if switching to Proton fixed crashes nonetheless
Text looked kind of blocky. Might be fixable.

If you're playing with Vulkan (the default), make sure Steam overlay is on. I don't know why, but there is an issue of a "lag spike of death" that randomly occurs if it's off. There's an issue on GitHub regarding this here for more reading: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Source-1-Games/issues/5767
Works perfectly fine in fullscreen. Strange black bar on the right side of my screen while the game is windowed though.
There is a black bar on the right side of my primary monitor while the game is windowed. It goes away if I fullscreen. This issue is also present on tModLoader.
Runs fantastically. No noticeable differences at all in comparison to Windows.
Runs perfectly. Used Proton to play Repentance. Played for a few hours and noticed zero issues.
If the crackling doesn't bother you, the game is fine.
Crackling was noticeably bad.
VR mode will not load at all. All I can see is the EAC launcher before it freezes and stays stuck.
I didn't bother testing non-VR mode, since plenty of reports say it works, and I did not have any interest in playing in non-VR because I don't generally anyway.
Though my game wasn't going above 25FPS, most lobbies in VRChat struggled for me on Windows anyway. I'd call it playable *personally*.
Game was unusually jittery and slow. Could be related to WiVRn though.
I had to use WiVRn + Envision for my setup on a Quest 2, ALVR would not work with my setup. Highly recommend checking out the Linux VR Adventures wiki or Discord for help, complete lifesaver for setting this up. Happy to say this now works almost as good as Windows now, minus the performance issues. Again, may not be Proton's fault.
Unusable outside of KDE as far as I can tell. Obviously does not work on my Archcraft install.
An okay alternative is Hidamari, not available on Steam.
