Minimum creen size is assumed by UI and not fully scrollable horizontally
Need minimum size screen rsolution (not fully determined) to see all settings.
Triggers aren't treated as simple/instant clicks
This review applies only to the editor, which allows editing mods and game files.
- It assumes a very wide screen, and only vertical scrolling is available. On Deck with native resolution, multiple properties are visible with only 3 letters shown, and many of these are missing tooltips.
- Opening xml files from the menu in game mode on Deck straight up doesn't work; I find it more convenient to edit these from my tablet or desktop with an ssh connection, as I don't have a USB keyboard.
- In general, the editor has far less polish than the main game (which is somewhat understandable as a tool, but the alternative is hand-writing xml files...)
- I recommend using git (or other revision control) on either the data directory as a whole or on individual mods to help keep track of things. It may simplify diffs if you check what each edit changes and rewrite the changes to keep original ordering (the game appears not to have been created with the same version of the editor). I also recommend at least checking diffs after changes, as I've caught the editor adding new properties and other data.
- Be careful clicking in menus when using the triggers, they're treated as long clicks; if you have the cursor over a menu item when you release, you will open that specific item (I keep opening the first item in each menu by mistake). Recommend holding trigger down, then moving cursor to menu scrollbar to release.
For basic changes like tweaking cost of items in mods or making them less overpowered, the editor is fully usable.

No explanaton of UI. The crafting interface is the inventory, I spent close to an hour trying to figure out where all my crafted items were disappearing to (trying different search terms, skipping through videos that never even filled up the quck bar and thus had no reason to manage it), not realizing it was the same interface and I could drag them out.

Multiplayer DLC works with no problems.

very low powerdraw especially if you limit it to 30fps. I didn't find the game particularly fun but the experience on Steamdeck is great if you use a community controller layout.
Crash at startup
Work without flaws
Installs and plays out of the box in Singleplayer. Didn't try Multiplayer yet.
Played for over 60 hours without a single issue
Just install and play, really grate game!
Didn`t start on Proton 6.3-7

Utilizei todos as versões do Proton, nenhum funcionou
Utilizei cada versão do proton, apenas abre o jogo por uns 2 segundos em uma tela negra e logo em seguida já fecha.
After installing windows fonts I was able to play without any issues.
Context selection (Select Dwarf, dig, etc.) pop ups didn't have any text to them. Installing windows fonts did fix the issue.
Runs perfectly fine out of the box.
marche à la perfection !
Game works again after update Wine to version 5.21 (wine-staging). Proton 5.0-10. Add launch parameters "PROTON_USE_WINED3D = 1 %command%"

Game does not start after some updates
Game does not start. I get a black screen 1 second, then back to desktop. Tried multiple proton versions with no effect. Sometimes no error in console, sometimes "abnormal program termination" in console. 1 or 2 month ago game worked well.
Work well on Proton 5.13-1
Changed GPU driver to 455.23.04 (open source) and I am able to play again

Week ago all is work
Few days ago screen gets black trying to start the game but returns to desktop. Today I don`t see black screen. Game simply doesn't load
Use Proton 5.0-9

Game does not start
Can confirm recent reports of game not starting. I get a black screen, then back to desktop. Tried multiple proton versions with no effect.

Does not work anymore since last update
Screen gets black for a second or two, then returns to desktop.
I tried
Proton 5.0-9
- 5.9-GE-3-ST
- 4.11-13
- 4.2-9
- 3.16-9

Last update borked the game.
Since the last update it does not start anymore. Screen gets black trying to load the game but returns to desktop.I did manage to play many hours before that.
not working => CTD // proton 5.09 & proton 4.11

Run like a native game

Changed Proton versions and it runs great! I dont remember my performance settings in windows, but it does appear a bit jerky when zoomed all the way out or scrolling quickly at mid-zoom. Very playable.

Ignore my previous submission, This does NOT run well in 19.04. Menu is fine. Once the game starts, there is a lot of graphical glitches and then the game crashs as soon as your first dwarf spawns.

Plays perfect!

I started a new custom game in full screen without any trouble. Played for about an hour and encountered no problem.

Wonderful! Just Install and play!

Runs perfectly. No problems.
