Hardware Issue
The game didn't even give me solid 15fps (with dlss performance mode on). I guess it is not a linux issue this hardware of my own doesn't allow me to play.

Runs perfectly

Perfect experience of the whole game with maximum details, great performance and no issues
Started with Proton Experimental right away, did not test Default 9.0-3. DLSS worked but was not necessary.

Plays like a dream, looks amazing, recomend headphones
minor distortion in the background at random points. only a split second and it was gone.
No issues that would stop you playing or enjoying the game to its fullest.

Perfect with default Proton (9.0-3)
Looks great on mid range rig in 3440x1440 AMD FSR 3 (motion blur turned off).
After some time I realized that Steam games were using Integrated Graphics Card by default. (I could hear the dedicated graphic card working when the shaders were loading, but after starting the actual game, completely silent) After disabling Integrated Graphics Card in UEFI/BIOS configuration, everything went smoothly
Keinerlei Anpassungen notwendig. Läuft mit Proton Experimental out of the box mit sehr guter Performance und ohne einen Fehler.

Got one crash only so far. Otherwise running very smoothly.

The game barely runs 30 fps on low settings + FSR ultra performance
Perfect!

VKD3D_VULKAN_DEVICE=0 %command%
Couldn't change resolution in fullscreen
DLSS was unavailable in game settings
Launching the game out of the box would freeze the screen until I Alt-Tabbed out of it. After trying all the other tweaks on ProtonDB, none of which worked, I found that it tried to run on my Ryzen 7600X integrated GPU. Forcing my discrete GPU with the VKD3D_VULKAN_DEVICE=0 parameter and using Proton Experimental or Proton GE 9.5+ solved the issue (you may have to use VKD3D_VULKAN_DEVICE=1 if 0 doesn't work).

stuttering

Ran perfectly from start to end on Proton 9.0-1
Recommended!

Played half the game without black bars (edited Engine.ini)
Frame rate limit at 30 fps
Using FSR3 gave artifacts on small highlights and glimmers. This was fixed in the patch that came out the other day.
Using Intel XeSS upscaler worked best for me. 25-30 fps using "auto" (effectively "performance"). Everything set to "Low" except effects and post processing which you can crank up if you want. The FSR3 upscaler had a lot of artifacts, so I switched to XeSS. The artifact issue was fixed when I was half-way through, but I stuck with XeSS since it gave me better frame rate.
Disabling the black bars (playing in full wide screen) drops the fps by 2-3 fps maybe. I think playing without tinkering is fine. It gives a more claustrophobic feel in caves. I experienced a couple of hickups when playing full-screen that didn't occur when playing in ultra-wide.
Use windowed mode to use the steam deck's built-in FSR, but I didn't find a way to set the resolution low enough to make it usable or better than the upscalers you can choose in the menu.
The text size can be increased in the menu. The game devours your battery. Best played plugged in. Played through the entire game on Steam Deck.

Just works
So, yeah, just works

Based on other reports before, did set only Proton 9.0-1 in the compatibility setting. No further tinkering (except for me launch parameter "mangohud %command%" to see the performance). The game was running fantastically!
Had also quite stable frame rates, in 4K with FSR3 quality and medium graphic settings the lowest FPS were around 42 FPS which happened quite rarely. On average it was around 55 fps.

Game looks good and plays well. No tinkering was required on my end.

Game runs mostly great out of the box, most performance issues likely a PC wide problem rather than linux only.
Minor artifacting on close-range shadows. More noticable with FSR 3 enabled.
This game has a VRAM problem where the textures stay loaded in too long on long playthroughs. I played for 8 hours and towards the end, the ending scenes of the game kind of chugged at 30FPS at best. The majority of my playthough was not like this, and closing and reopening the game likely would fix it.
I use GE Proton by default, but I would wager standard proton would run fine + game mode.

Main menu always with less than 1 fps
No matter what configuration I use (already tried every combination in this reports), the main menu is always below 1 fps.

There's a fair bit of shimmering and some small graphical corruption on the characters' faces.
FSR 3 quality, sharpness 100, VRS enabled, medium preset, around 38-57 FPS with a Ryzen 7 7700, RX 7600 and 32GB of RAM. I locked the FPS at 30 using MangoHud to avoid stuttering, I didn't noticed any dips and the game felt surprisiling smooth at this frame rate.
No crashes or bugs, it's a very polished game, it's just extremely demanding.

DXVK_HDR=1 PROTON_ENABLE_AMD_AGS=1 gamescope --display-index 1 --steam -w 3440 -h 1440 -W 3440 -H 1440 -f --force-grab-cursor --adaptive-sync --hdr-enabled -- gamemoderun %command%
Without the gamescope settings I am using, the game would immediately crash when trying to open, I suspect due to an issue with the compositor.
With the gamescope settings, unless you use --force-grab-cursor your view will lock if you mouse over too far in one direction. This setting fixes that.
Based on other reports here, others are able to start the game without having to go to the lengths I have.
Additionally, I managed to get it so that the HDR option is enabled, but the game looks better without it likely because I missed some setting somewhere.

gamemoderun %command%
Had to switch to 8.0-5. Other Proton versions did not work for me.

No issue at all. Just install and play. This is a demanding game that requires high-end machine.

VKD3D_DISABLE_EXTENSIONS=VK_EXT_mesh_shader
VKD3D_DISABLE_EXTENSIONS=VK_EXT_mesh_shader disables mesh shader and fixes textures
Works great once you get the textures fixed
Out of the box on my openSUSE Tumbleweed PC, also using the Steam Link hardware
Only 1-FPS after load main menu. Загружается норм. В Главном меню всего один кадр в секунду и тормозит все, включая GNOME
In menu only 1-FPS on ANY version of Proton

Missing textures stopped me from playing further.
With "Variable Rate Shaing" enabled (default) lots of flashing points on screen. Opening scene has boats on the ocean. Looks like glass boat, missing textures on sides and the sail.
I will try again once I read about fixes
Game shows a fatal error message on startup with any available Proton version I have tried.
Plays flawlessly on Day One. I played for about 7 hours in total without any issues

Thanks Valve!
