Tried the steps of deleting the UbisoftConnectInstaller.exe, adding a symlink to From_Dust.exe and replacing the two files from a download (as noted in other posts).
Tried various proton versions all the way back to 3.x.x.
Tried the Launch Options that are noted in other posts.
Haven't ever been able to get to the main menu, unfortunately.
Even with the tweaks mentioned by others I have been unable to get the game running. SteamOS 3.5.7 + Steam Deck OLED
Using Official Layout and Proton Experimental. Videos played normally after selecting Proton Experimental. Had to use touchscreen in order to get into settings to select gamepad but after that gamepad works as expected.
Installed fine. Tried with Proton Experimental and Proton 7.0-6. Tried in Desktop and Game mode.
