Pssst. Native Linux port on GOG. It's just not on steam for whatever reason. That's secretly the version I played, but don't tell anyone.
The audio loops endlessly, and all of the voices are in french.
I wouldn't consider this playable. The texture resolution issues make it an incredibly ugly experience, and the performance is awful.
Textures are very low resolution, or not rendering.
Lag hiccup when making a save.
Frequent stuttering and lag spikes throughout the intro sequence.
I was pleasantly suprised to see the game (and associated DRM) install and run without issue.
Either it's been fixed upstream, or with GE 8-4, but it runs well now. It correctly installs Ubisoft Connect, as opposed to uPlay, and boots in-game just fine. Ubisoft Connect doesn't close upon exiting the game, however, and must be closed manually, which is only a very minor inconvenience.
Game throws up a Code Error when attempting to launch:

Runs perfectly after choosing setting in the configuration tool
Select the "Controller Layout Tool", via the second launch option. From here I chose the following settings: Preset = Highest, Use V-Sync = true, Resolution = 1920x1080x32, Use System Mouse Cursor = false. The game has run perfectly so far.

From here I chose the following settings: Preset = Highest, Use V-Sync = true, Frame Buffer = Unused, Resolution = 1920x1080x32, Use System Mouse Cursor = false. The game has run perfectly so far. Also, I increased the gamma by one notch, as-per TheGameSquid's recommendation; greatly improves visibility.
