Locked to 30fps in-game, keep device at 90hz. 720p native, no upscaling.
Text is a little too small and doesn't render sharply at 720p.
Occasional drops in big battles.
For a series infamous for poor performance on target hardware, this runs surprisingly ok. An in-game FPS lock keeps input latency to a playable degree. I only played a few hours on Deck, mostly at work, and played most on my PC for obvious reasons. Battery life is maybe 2-3hrs on the OLED.
Heavy artificating when switching from FSR Non-Native AA
-Only proton experimental runs the game for me
-Controllers needed steam input to work
-Fullscreen starts minimized
-Frame-gen crashes
After some retail updates the game runs without crashing now, compared to release (or the "demo")
Great game on Linux if you work around that minor inconvenience of fullscreen
Borderless makes the game crash after a while. Fullscreen has no crash, but game starts minimized. Same as Helldivers 2. Maybe have to lock fps to 60 for no crashes, haven't tested further, but after fullscreen, no more crashes.
Played two story lines to the full, 60h of game, all videos and in-game cutscenes play, skipping works and the only crashes happened in borderless windowed mode. Played the game on a Dualsense controller and the buttom prompts match.

Sometimes the game crashes and freezes everything in kde.

framerate inconsistencies with DLSS/FrameGen on Nvidia
Crashes often while the game uses Nvidia tech
Got crashes and weird framerate hitches/inconsistencies while the game used DLSS and Frame Generation. Aside from that, I also ran into crashes. Turning that off, hiding Nvidia via startup command and using FSR instead made it run great. AMD framegen made the game crash though.

Perfect out of box
Don't change the compatibily option, use the default proton and the game is good to go.
Had some crashes at first, but they are fixed now.

Has a tendency to crash during cutscenes, which frequently come at the end of long story missions, resulting in 20-40 minute set backs
40Hz
Lots of instances of small text, combined with a very blurry low resolution font
Game has poor frame pacing even when exceeding refresh rate there are noticable instances of stutter
Typical Japanese developer janky PC port, it's playable but noticably poor quality compared to other games of similar calibre. Actual gameplay itself is entertaining, but until the crashing issues are fixed I can only recommend it on a "YMMV" hardware conditional basis.

The game will play for a few minutes, then freeze. Audio will continue, but all visual is frozen.

Works great
Did not detect my Xbox controller, but works when i run it trough Steam Input for some reason
For some weird reason this game does not prevent my screensaver from turning on, and because i have to use steam input for the controller those button presses apperantly dont count for turning off/resetting my screensaver... Nothing major, but i do find it a bit weird thats all

Sometimes heavy artifacting occurs
Chrashes a lot in menus and battle result screens

30 minutes at a time is alright, i guess

My custom pipewire configuration caused constant crackling/popping/hitching, have to revert to a default I keep around for situations like this.
Must be played on Experimental, game would not launch on latest GE. It also seems like text scaling is only designed for up to 1080p, I'm playing at 1440p and the menu text is noticably blurry. Come on, Koei.

40hz
FSR3破圖
Xess & FSR 可以穩定40fps

Almost runs, except for when you get to cut scene, then everything is pixelated.
I've tried doing the last 4 versions of proton, as well as the launch options listed by other users on this page.

-windowed
Used the launch option -windowed to start up the game then changed to bordless windowed afterwards.

You will see colorful box artifacts all over the game if you use FSR3. Others have sashes their game crahes with FSR on. Using XESS works
The game appears to have an issue with the gpu sometimes as performance would tank and gpu usage would hit zero during this period. Frame time would shoot up and the fps would fluctuate heavily. Only a restart seems to fix
FPS/GPU issue mentioned
I can achieve over 40 fps with steamdeck graphics profile and XESS Ultra Qaulity Plus until the bug happens. I don't know what triggers it yet

mangohud game-performance %command%
Runs smoothly which is quite incredible for a Koei Tecmo port, haven't tested if there are Nvidia performance degradation given VKD3D however the performance are about what i'd expect with my hardware, overall pretty fantastic experience all around

Worked with Proton Experimental. Tried using GE-Proton9-22 and it kept crashing.
frequently freezes up at any given point. audio will continue to play but game visuals are locked.

Game is sensitive to fullscreen, make sure that you apply fullscreen in settings
Don't use any launch options, avoid using gamemode or only use 'gamemode -f' only. Use Proton Experimental and avoid skipping cutscenes to not crash on Battle menu.

Trying to turn FSR Frame Gen on will crash the game, since I didn't find the config file I needed to reinstall the game.
Slightly better performance on Proton Experimental.

Game does not even start. Tried several Proton versions and launch conditions
Attempted several Launch mods and proton versions back to 5.0.10. Game does not even launch
The game crashes if you try to turn FSR3 on in the graphics settings

Runs flawlessly
Absolutely no issues worth noting, experience feels like running it natively.
Demo works great out of the box
Didn't have any issues or crashes throughout the demo.

Closes after cutscenes (demo version)
Game abruptly closes either on the final cutscene or pre-battle setup. Tried a few times and it crashed/closed most a few seconds after the cutscenes.

It closes when I want to start a game.
gamemoderun %command%
I have installed the demo, and although I have been able to start it and change the settings, when I want to start the game, it closes abruptly.
By the way, in the graphics settings section, there is a part for the Steam Deck, so I think it will work with Proton without user adjustments in the future or in the full version of the game.
