Idk the SteamDeck=0
argument makes the game flicker, idk if in the last 11 month its fixed or what but i can enable FSR Framgen without doing that argument
overall shit specs shit fps but still works OOTB (i forgot to switch back to reccomended proton)

SteamDeck=0 %command%
The screen is flickering until you enable FSR3 in the graphics settings.
TLDR:
- Set the SteamDeck=0 %command% as launch option
- Enable FSR3 Frame Generation in graphics settings to remove screen flickering
- Enable fullscreen mode if you experience artifacts around edges when moving the camera
You NEED to set the launch option SteamDeck=0 or else you will run the game in SteamDeck mode by default which results in lower graphics and broken cloth and hair physics.
This is because if not the game will run in SteamDeck DX11 mode by default. With SteamDeck=0 it uses DX12 and the graphics settings actually do something quality wise. For whatever reason Square Enix has introduced this variable that makes Forspoken run in SteamDeck mode by default when run via Proton. I also experienced 3 random crashes in 2 hours of gameplay with DX11. I still have to see if DX12 has the same problem.
The screen was flickering when run with SteamDeck=0 on first boot but enabling FSR3 Frame Generation completely removes this issue.
I also experienced weird artifacting on geometry edges when moving the camera around. Setting the game window from Borderless to Fullscreen removed this issue.

Game seems to work fine on nvidia with latest Proton Experimental and GE-Proton 3.82 with latest nvidia drivers.

PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_2 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr %command%
Minor dips in Performance. Settings have to be lower than on Windows

crashes on windows too, not necessarily fault of the deck…
FSR3 has been patched and will now work flawlessly with this game.
You'll need to use a launch option to be able to enable it: VK3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_2 %command%
Then you can enable FSR3 in the ingame settings. This produces fps between 50 and 60.

does not work at all

It might even work now, with the Steam recommended Proton version. Haven't tried.

Switched to GE-Proto8-23 have seemed to fix the issue for me of the occasional crash. Other then that things are running as they should
would crash every 10 min or so. Changed to GE-Proton8-23. seemed to have fixed the crashing

VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_2 %command%
I wasn't able to play with a PS4 Controller.
A bit of stuttering
Flickering before FSR3.0 activation
FSR3!
Activate FSR3 as quickly as you can to stop the flickering. You will need to use "Custom" in the Graphics tab in the Settings and then activate FSR.
About performances, I have around 120 FPS but had the impression it is way less. Not sure if it's an issue with proton or the game here.

You need to try and error so much Launch options and then to get a game that looks worse then Doom on a smart fridge.
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_2 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr SteamDeck=0 %command%
Doom on a smart fridge would have better grafics...
when switching from Fullscreen, full windowed, windowed it could happen, that the game gets stucked or crashes...
Strong stuttering during playing the game

VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_2 %command%
Game requires FSR 3.0 Frame Generation to stop flickering, there are big black artifacts around moving objects (may be due to frame generation)
MangoHUD shows GPU and CPU utilization is low, but performance is bad anyway

VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_2 %command%
Bleeding-edge Proton Experimental needed
Right click an Proton Exp in Game Liste, choose Betas -> bleeding edge
Nice demo to test FSR3
Use bleeding edge of Proton Experimental (Beta), set launch command (VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_2 %command%) and activate ingame FSR3 Frame Generation to stop flickering

Due to the EXTREME flickering it's very straining for the eyes to look at, especially at the default 30 fps. It's a literal strobe light.
Extreme flickering, linked to ingame framerate limiter. Goes from normal image to completly black frames.
Only option was Borderless, no native fullscreen or windowed with borders.
Crashed when going from default graphics preset (low preset) to "Ultra High" preset.
If they fix the strobing/flickering. The game runs smoothly.

Prior to 1.22 all was find, post its a unplayable flickering MESS (epilepsy warning needed bad)
Your extraction of hours play breaks here - you report 0 hours and I have 94.2

Map icons
FPS drops while lots of effects on screen

Game seems to play better than what the folks here describe. Crashed once on me when changing from low settings to Ultra. Is it worth playing? That's a different story.
Not only does FSR introduce even more visual downgrades on top of low poly 3D models, low textures, low render distance and other graphical artifacts but some graphical settings are now entirely greyed out.
Switching between the Deck and a Windows PC, the Continue function does not appear. Manual saves are the only workaround.
SteamDeck=0 %command%
Cracking and slowing
Fps just not where it should be i guess but i'm not sure if it were any different on Windows
It seems that Steam by default forces SteamDeck=1 on this game what makes the textures not stream properly so adding "SteamDeck=0 %command%" solves that problem and lets you adjust the texture level in the options ( greyed out before). FPS is not so hot with high setting but OK with FSR.
Game is a stuttery mess even after the small patch that includes enhancements for steam deck
added D3D12.dll library
Only borderless is available
Very low FPS dips under 40
Even after the patch the game is still bearly playable for me
gamemoderun
works like a charm
Low settings , FRS balanced
Sometime FPS drop
Run on stable 30 fps, sometime drop down to 25, low settings ,fsr balanced, battery draw 13-18w in open word ,25w inside city play time 2.5h-2.0h
SteamDeck=1 %command%
Texture/materials not loading, serious artifacts in game geometry.
Lower framerate than expected.
Hopefully future updates improve things.
can't get above like 40 FPS
-NoDirectStorage
You can play the game on mostly medium settings and quality fsr with the -NoDirectStorage command and get 30 fps

In game graphics and for change
If controller battery dies you'll need to reset
Also 30 fps is the best you'll get. But it's not stable
At the minute it's frames are too all over. But if this is addressed in a patch as they said they would I would recommend it. If the quality is bugging you change the ingame fsr to quality, model detail to standard and go from there. You'll get some frame issues regardless of whether you do this or not
The textures are really unpleasant can be played on my hardware but cause of the textures I will go and play something else
added D3D12.dll library
Textures were low polygon
only bordeless window mode availible
Benchmark crashed after starting the timer

Demo suffers from texture streaming issues - models have very poor quality
The demo is fully playable. Surprisingly, there is no significant stutters or crashes, very smooth framerate. Full game, unfortunately, is unaffordable for it's price

Unable to change graphics quality settings
Game crashes in the settings menu, graphics quality settings cannot be changed
Fully playable, but frequently crashes in the game settings menu
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command%
Extremely low FPS even on lowest settings with DLSS on Performance
Needed to update to the newest graphics driver to start the game. To be able using DLSS added the above launch option.

-steamdeck
I just tried the demo for a couple of minutes. You need to start Steam with the -steamdeck switch to make it work otherwise you get an d3d12core.dll error.

Major graphical issues, otherwise playable.
Graphical glitches are so terrible it makes it hard to look at.
RADV_PERFTEST=gpl SteamDeck=1 %command%
Some objects are missing triangles, some textures only load low-res versions
~22 FPS on high settings, likely at least partially due to Denuvo
Running with SteamDeck=1 environment variable is currently required, otherwise the game will crash on startup.
Works awesome out of the box. Supports FSR2, but couldn't enable Ray-Tracing. Played with settings on Ultra, benchmarked at 90fps.
gamemoderun SteamDeck=1 %command%
The graphics themselves are actualy very terrible on fully maxed out settings and especially in the intro sequence i feel like im in a ps3 game.
Framerate is quite bad with a lot of drops no matter what the graphical settings seem to be set at.
The game would not launch at all unless "-steamdeck" or "SteamDeck=1 %command%" is set as a launch option because the game is made to only run on steamdeck and not linux desktop.
The game is a very bad PC version. I have managed to run it only via SteamDeck=1 command in proton parameters.
SteamDeck=1
textures and models are very low quality
Games is probably VERY POORLY optimised and/or command line parameter "SteamDeck=1" locks framerate around 30 fps
Very bad console port. But it runs so far with "SteamDeck=1" on my PC, though it is barely playable.

Demo was unable to start
I recieved an error that said:
"D3D12Core.dll(DirectX AgilitySDK) didn't be installed on your Windows. Please update Windows."
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11 SteamDeck=1 %command%
Low polygon and textures even on ultra especially background and evironmental textures

DXVK_ASYNC=1 SteamDeck=1 %command%
Seems models and textures are low quality no matter the settings
Low FPS even on low settings
Seems to break compositor on KDE after exiting game
