Installed rockstar game launcher manually as the game won't run without it. Sent a help ticket to rockstar for the cd-key
The longer my sessions were the more textures would refuse to render eventally resulting in everything except charactars blank.
Some lag and freezing eventally a memory leak. Lot of lag even with grahics all the way down.
Memory leaks and had to reload due to missing textures.
Servers decently fine had to mod the game. As mentioned the memory leaks and texture degration still occur same as single.
Works well out of the box
Remedy launcher should be installed. Just use the touchscreen.
Borked as in "won't even run the launcher" on all of the Zen 2 chips (Ryzen 3xxx).
Currently opened issue for Proton: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/350
Enable D9VK and install XliveLess and add the redirect "127.0.0.1 tv.rockstargames.com" in your /etc/hosts
Enabling D9VK improved the performance dramatically. From 22FPS to 75FPS.
As previous reports mentioned needed to install xliveless.dll and enable D9VK to get a enjoyable experience.
A stutter here and there. Basically frame drops from 75 down to 40ish.
Game doesn't boot at all with Ryzen 3xxx chips. But it does with Windows.
As other comments mention, install xliveless and it's ready to go
Refuses to display anything unless D9VK is enforced. Was unable to get gamepad working. XLiveless (https://github.com/AccountOneOff/lutris_files/raw/master/xlive.dll) is a must. Generally is playable, with a bit of stuttering occurring while shaders are being built: was able to get around 40-45 fps with everything maxed out.
Just download and install xliveless like GTA VI after that run the game. Download here: https://www.gtavision.com/?section=downloads&site=download&id=2914 My wine setup has the standard wine-recommended installation.
After adding line to /etc/hosts and using xliveless it's working with some graphical glitches. It seems playable.
Needs xliveless, no need for nvapi on AMD gpu, poor performance either with or without. (sub 30fps, resolution made no difference, shadows to off improved framerate but still sub 30)
Download the xlive.dll file https://github.com/AccountOneOff/lutris_files/raw/master/xlive.dll and copy it to ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Grand\ Theft\ Auto\ IV\ Episodes\ from\ Liberty\ City/EFLC/. Install wine-staging and wine-staging-i386 packeges (e.g. with sudo apt install wine-staging wine-staging-i386), run this 4 commands: cp /opt/wine-staging/lib64/wine/nvapi64.dll.so ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Proton\ 3.16\ Beta/dist/lib64/wine/nvapi64.dll.so, cp /opt/wine-staging/lib64/wine/nvapi64.dll.so ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Proton\ 3.16\ Beta/dist/lib64/wine/nvapi64.dll.so, cp /opt/wine-staging/lib64/wine/nvapi64.dll.so ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Proton\ 3.16\ Beta/dist/lib64/wine/nvapi64.dll.so and cp /opt/wine-staging/lib64/wine/nvapi64.dll.so ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Proton\ 3.16\ Beta/dist/lib64/wine/nvapi64.dll.so. Remember to change Proton\ 3.16\ Beta with your Proton version! Add the line: 127.0.0.1 tv.rockstargames.com into the /etc/hosts file.
Needs XLiveLess (otherwise you'll get "EFLC: FATAL ERROR"). Also needed to copy over nvapi files (https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/350#issuecomment-419514874) and add "127.0.0.1 tv.rockstargames.com@ to /etc/hosts. After all that it runs, but not very well. I get a pretty low FPS and stutters which makes it hard to play, but this is propably because of my ancient graphics card.
Need xliveless and a line in the /etc/hosts. (127.0.0.1 tv.rockstargames.com). It has poor perfomrance.
Used xliveless. Did those two things: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/350#issuecomment-419514874 and https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/350#issuecomment-418909900 The paths for nvapi may differ for you, for me they did at least. Draw distance kills the performance. On high settings (with draw distance and details set to the lowest) I'm getting 25-50fps depending on the area. There are some graphical glitches. I suggest turning off in-game V-Sync. I could play like this. But more testing is needed
I downloaded Xliveless and installed it into the game directory. Added tv.rockstargames.com to the file /etc/hosts. Minor graphical glitches in the sky and occasional flickering shadows. If framerates are low, lower visibility range. 1440p works fine for me, but some may have to go with 1080p for a smoother experience. Nvidia users may have to do some extra steps: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/350. Have Esync disabled always, since GTA V needed it, so that may be worth a try.
