Stable, fluid, zero stutter, 4K, easily 110fps at max settings.

switched to the dx11_non-rt beta branch

Crash at startup

Steam Play, defaults to Proton Experimental on my machine, it looks to be wine-7.0 from logs.
Funciona OK

Works just fine, excluding some fullscreen errors in the homescreen. I easily got over 60fps in gameplay.
Fullscreen was picky as sometimes the main menu crashed if I remember correctly depending on what type of fullscreen mode I was using.

dont know why, but some cut scenes just dont work

The game works but i got lots of freezes in the middle of gameplay.
If using DX12 mode, the performance is a lot worse than it should be.
I got lots of crashes in the middle of the game.
Proton-5.11-GE-3-MF (Glorious Eggroll) GloriousEggroll
Proton-5.11-GE-3-MF
Improved drastically after changing settings in game ot DX11

Runs only DX11 not 12
Runs only DX11 not 12

A "saving game" screen appears and then the screen goes black.
Proton version: 5.0-9

Use proton 4.11-13
Works perfectly

In the game menu, graphics option select DX11 as the API instead of DX12
Set to Proton 4.11-13 and worked out of the box Turned down some graphic settings to match my Gpu better but didn't change resolution

In the game menu, graphics and selected DX11 as the API instead of DX12
It won't run out of the box
stayed on a black screen

Use Proton 4.11-13 (or maybe earlier). Right-click on demo's icon -> Properties -> General tab -> Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility -> Proton 4.11-13. Maybe earlier versions work too (didn't try). Perfect, play, audio, menu, gameplay with very high settings, 1440p & 1080p (didn't try 4K).

Wont start
I see only a blank screen and the game wont start.

Does not start.
Tried with multiple different versions of proton up to 5.0.5

En DirectX12 hay artifacts, esto se resuelve cambiando a DirectX11 y funciona bien. Ademas la demo no reconoce la cantidad de Vram de mi tarjeta grafica.

Game wont run.
I see re3demo.exe running in top for about 30 seconds, then it terminates. It doesn't make a window. Using Proton 5.0-5.

Runs extremely well in Proton. 60fps at max settings, with maybe 2 or 3 dips during the 30 minute playtime (probably compiling shaders).
Only issue was some weird shadow flickering and clipping in the opening cutscene, fixed by changing to DX11 in the menu.

modify re3_config.ini to force DX11. (THIS MAY BE RESET TO DX12 BETWEEN SESSIONS)

Amazing Graphics! Its in Racoon subway so i feel nostalgic starting it!
Turning AA settings off removed artifacts, Temporal AA was the least flicker.
Artifacts Flicker When AA Options are turned on all settings FXAA, TAA, SMAA, Artifcats dont flicker when turned off. TAA has least amount of flicker.

Game looks Amazing!
Slight Degradation in Lighting Flicker: Turning on Vsunc in Game Menu Seems to remove this for the most part.
As Noted some type of light flicker with Vsync off but seems normal.
Worked just fine. You might experience input lag even with a Gsync or Freesync monitor in that case turn off vsync.

Admittedly, this is a demo so no guarantees for the full game out April 3, 2020 but this demo works flawlessly on Linux with Proton
Under DX12 mode the game showed quick a bit of flickering in the introduction cut scene on the train. Didn't notice much else outside of that cut scene. It may have to do with lighting or particle effect shaders for the train not translating well to Vulkan. Under DX11 mode there was no sign of the flickering. The result is repeatable in both Proton 5.0-5 and Proton-5.4-GE-2
I wish the developer would use Vulkan but glad to see that DX12 works with Vulkan/DXVK
The resolution wasn't chosen automatically correct. But, at the game menu I was able to chose to 2560x1080 (ultrawide) instead of fullhd (1920x1080).
Works just fine!

DirectX 12 API is causing graphical issues with Steam's Proton version. DirectX 11 works like a charm though. Alternatively you can use Proton 5.4-GE-1 for DirectX 12 since it has better vkd3d implementation.

Works great out of the box
Just use direct 11 on direct x12 theres flickering in some places

Works great with no noticeable slow downs. Some flickering at the starting area but not found elsewhere.
Some flicker in a specific area.
Everything works well

Absolutely. It runs perfectly
I used Proton 4.11-13 and it was flawless
Works flawlessly out of the box

Performance was better than Resident Evil 2 out-of-the-box and didn't require mf-installcab
5.2-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Proton-5.2-GE-2
Some particle effects rendered as squares instead of their intended shape, some textures appeared as their low-detail versions.
The game crashed when I attempted to change graphics settings in DX12 mode.
Use DX11 mode for better performance. Custom version of Proton may not be required.
