Every time I Alt-Tab, click or interact with another window in my DM (MATE on X) the fullscreened ufo50.exe would move back to my second monitor (listed second on xrandr, display 2 in ddcutil and not my primary monitor in my TM).
Local MP is KISS so the only factor is supporting a second gamepad
Tinker: couldn't get it into the foreground on Proton 9.0-4 (appeared briefly in taskbar then music played but no window) on AMD desktop; but on lappy (nvidia) it was fine
Plays perfect ootb
Reduce TDP limit to 8 watts, GPU clock to 800 MHz
Runs perfectly even with tdp and gpu limits turned down, great experience handheld and docked. At most, if you're using an external controller, you might need to adjust the player order in steam input or else the game will show keyboard prompts instead of controller prompts.
Works perfectly out of the box
This is one of the best games to buy for a steam deck. No problems.
I had a minor issue with UFO 50 fullscreening to the wrong monitor by default. Other than that she worked perfectly with my 8bitdo SN30pro.
The game defaulted to fullscreen on my secondary monitor. Had to tinker with it to get it to work properly.
Largely runs as expected, with one niche issue
Lowered TDP and wattage for battery life - should be able to go lower than 6W depending on the game
When returning from Desktop Mode with a Bluetooth controller connected, they wouldn't be correctly bound to the P1 slot - and rearranging order in the Steam overlay doesn't resolve this. Reboot is required to fix.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%
Needs the command as listed in this report.
Works perfectly OOB.
Currently have to switch to Proton Experimental. Even the latest GE-Proton won't launch it. But other than that I have not had to add any special launch commands etc.
Great game to play on Steam Deck
I used 2 Nintendo Switch NES controllers and although I had difficulty setting up the controllers on the Steam Deck, I did not experience any issues when actually playing the game with the controllers.
This is a really great collection of games to play on the Steam Deck. I have had no issues in playing this game and have even been able to play the game with local multiplayer and with the NES switch controllers. I found it just to be a seamless experience.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%
works perfectly
Works great, no issues
gamescope -W 3440 -H 1440 -f --mangoapp %command%
Suffers from "jittery" frametimes
Despite averaging a stable 60 FPS, this game's frametimes are "jittery" (constantly bouncing between 16.6ms and 16.8ms). Alt-tabbing out of the game and back in resolves this issue temporarily, but it always returns (usually when loading a new game or changing menus).
Using the gamescope launch option seems to permanently keep the frametimes stable. I also launched Steam with the steam -steamos3
command to get a working controller through Steam Input. The only downside is that this causes adaptive sync to become very unstable, causing horrible VRR flicker.
I would recommend using gamescope with adaptive sync disabled for the best experience.

Works after set the launch options. Thanks @ random person below
Fails to launch. Not even a window appears.
Did not work at the time of release
PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%
Works like a charm ootb
Works perfectly upon install.
