dotnet48 d3dcompiler_47
Use Dragon_Rider install instructions for webview2 and change to webview2 to Windows 7 in Winecfg.

On the default prefix via Protontricks:
- Unistall mono
- Install dotnet48 & d3dcompiler_47
- Install webview2 (see Dragon_Rider message)
- Via winecfg on protontricks, set msedgewebview2.exe to Windows 7
- Install gmdls
- Under [Software\Wine\Fonts\Replacements] in $STEAM_COMPAT_DATA_PATH/pfx/user.reg from "times new roman" to "Liberation Serif" (see DrymarchonShaun message for details)
No text on the popup window, but you can see them on the Mesage Log window. But somes are missing

protontricks 1076160 -q dotnet48 d3dcompiler_47
Map smaller than screen size in fullscreen, GUI not clikable (the button image and hotspot didn't coincide). Works perfectly in windowed mode.
Followed Dragon_Rider instructions protontricks 1076160 -q dotnet48 d3dcompiler_47 Install WebView2 runtime Use winecfg to set up mswebview2 to windows 7

can't launch
gamemoderun %command%
protontricks 1076160 -q dotnet48 d3dcompiler_47
protontricks does some stuff for a while then errors out :
warning: Note: command /home/user/.var/app/com.github.Matoking.protontricks/cache/protontricks/proton/GE-Proton9-18/bin/wine ndp48-x86-x64-allos-enu.exe /sfxlang:1027 /q /norestart returned status 67. Aborting.
I have no idea how to install webview or whatever in wineconfig.
protontricks 1076160 -q dotnet48 d3dcompiler_47
After doing this go to this Go to this link and download webview2.
Install webview2 in the correct wineprefix
Open winecfg for this wine prefix, select mswebview2.exe in the applications list and select windows 7 from the dropdown menu. Click Apply and exit out of winecfg.

protontricks 1076160 -q dotnet48 d3dcompiler_47
The above protontricks command is necessary to get the game to run. More recent versions of glorious eggroll may work, but I have not tried them.
You can faff around with fonts, as detailed in earlier reports (but I didn't need to). The other thing to note is that the game defaults to sound off, and the volume sliders had the full range of 0-100 between about 80-100 on the sliders.

gamemoderun %command%
dotnet48 and d3dcompiler_47 are required to launch the game, otherwise it crashes after hitting play in the launcher
protontricks 1076160 -q dotnet48 d3dcompiler_47
Fonts look like garbage as most of the game's UI is using Microsoft's Segoe UI font which they refuse to let anyone redistribute
How about Segoe UI? I love it and would like to include that in my non-Windows app or game. Is it available from Monotype?
No, as Segoe UI is both our user interface and corporate branding font, it is not available for use outside of Microsoft products on non-Windows platforms.
This can be worked around by modifying the keys under [Software\\Wine\\Fonts\\Replacements]
in $STEAM_COMPAT_DATA_PATH/pfx/user.reg
from "times new roman" to a different font you have installed.
On the beta branch there are some graphical bugs, and the text in some popups and scenario briefings is missing
Stable is fine so far
Same as others have reported, can get to the launcher but crashes when you hit play

Game still doesn't work on Linux, Unlikely to change.
The launcher loads, but clicking play crashes the game. The community has been requesting proton support for 5 years at this point. Dev's say they are going to improve support, while not making changes towards this effort. Not worth your time atm. Broken
Misreably broken
Not working
Game won't even start.
Borked because bytecode is obfuscated with SmartAssembly.
Developers are aware and might fix the issue. Show your interest by leaving a comment here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1076160/discussions/0/1640927981803581014/
Installs fine, opens the launcher same as windows, missing the slytherin ads. Go to open the game and the launcher closes. Rinse repeat.
Used GE, All the proton versions available. No luck, it seems as if it can't get past the launcher. Ive even attempted bottles.
Install a Windows 10 VM, Install into VM, profit.

Protontricks dotnet48
Launched with proton 4.11 in order to install dotnet48 via protontricks. Once done, switched to experimental.
Launcher and game launch after installing dotnet48 via protontricks. Cannot start playing, but it's something.
Launcher starts, game crashes immediately :(

Installs, presents Launcher, "Running"--but not so.
Game installs, and first shows an error window described in earlier reports.

Got to launcher, with an immediate crash
There was an error in a Wine window saying "Error: Could not load the correct language. Please delete the settings file and retry. (Documents\My Games[Game Title]\Launcher)"

Anyone wanna help me to make this cool game run on Linux?
Message me, plz!!!

Out of the box, can run launcher but can get no further
Using the matrix version with wine-staging 4.19, winetricks wmp9, jet40, dotnet472 and vcrun2017 the game starts and some interaction (e.g panning the map, running empty simulation for a few seconds) is possible. However, vital features needed to actually use the game will cause it to hang and crash. However, it was possible to create a blank scenario, add 2 sides and 2 units as well browse the database that you get access to when you choose which ones to add. Also, the game starts in the globe view and skips the main menu, which is not how the game is supposed to work.
