I found a couple of issues that result in degredation of performance and FPS cap. Accidently selecting FXAA caps FPS at 45. Also if there is no internet connection FPS also caps at 45 FPS no idea why but connecting to Wifi fixes it.

i've used many version of proton and desactivated many options i've readed on the proton game's page after 10 minutes played my game crash.

Game sometimes crashes when loading a new area, but this does not seem to be related to Proton and also happens on Windows from what I found online.

I was able to complete it on very high settings. Outside of a few random crash dumps, it worked out of the box, with good performances.
There was some occasional crashes with the game, but that also happens on Windows it seems, form the posts I saw in Steam's forum...
Just added +com_skipBootSequence 1 as a launch parameter, to get rid of those pesky unskippable videos at the start of the game.
Couldnt even start it

gamemoderun mangohud %command% --use-d3d11
With actual Proton Experimental, the game does not start
Game does not start
Doesn't start, just a black window and a console window pop up and both hang

Works OOTB
I've had 0 issues with this game, I installed the game and it ran perfectly fine just like on windows. If you have this game it is a really
Stuttering at the start of levels and in new game locations, probably caused by Mesa shader compilations
The game was playable with GE-Proton7 [on my machine] without any issues, except for fairly frequent frame drops. In terms of gameplay experience, this game is [rightfully] considered to be the worst game in the 'Wolfenstein reboot quadrilogy'.
Unacceptable performance even with Low settings.
The game ran perfectly on my system after I disabled ray traced eflections in the advanced settings to fix an issue with it crashing shortly after loading the Victory Boulevard as well as the Political Detention Area 4 levels. It would crash shortly after my character would leave the subway, and after some digging, I found out that the issue was caused by limited support of ray tracing on my graphics card.
Fix:
Options > Video > Advanced Settings > Ray Traced Refections > Off
I was able to play the game thereafter smoothly with some pretty good settings (after restarting the game):
Options > Video > Video Quality Profile > Mein leben!
Resolution (1080p):
Options > Video > Resolution > 1920 x 1080 [16:9]
The game works flawlessly with my setup without having to configure any launch options on steam. However, I experienced some crashing shortly after starting the levels Political Detention Area 4 and Victory Boulevard (once my character was leaving the subway). I noticed it was an issue with ray tracing support on my graphics card, and after some research, I was able to solve the issue by disabling ray traced reflections in the advanced settings:
Options > Video > Advanced Settings > Ray Traced Reflections > Off
I also experienced low frame rates when playing at an 1080p resolution (1920x1080 [16:9]), so had to lower that to 1368 x 768:
Options > Video > Resolution > 1368 x 768 [16:9]
I was able to play the game to the end with ultra video quality:
Options > Video > Video Quality Profile > Ultra
Works out of the box
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command%
Use: PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command% so you can install it and play it (if using NVidia cards). DLSS (Balanced) gives at least some 5-10 extra FPS. Im playin at 80-90 fps with the settings on max! Add a text file called dxvk.conf with "dxgi.nvapiHack = False" (without the quotes) on it, inside the games executable folder, so you can use DLSS!

Screen flickering between black and white making game unplayable
Maybe a shader problem, i don't really have hopes in this being fixed as it is the same problem i encountered in Wolfenstein 2: The new colossus. Read somewhere that it might be because of the intel gpu.

Runs fine with Proton 6.3-8, although about 20% slower than with Proton GE 7.0RC3.
20% less FPS than Proton-7.0RC3-GE-1 (but that version has broken online connectivity)
This game runs perfectly.

Doesn't start
Doesn't start. running safe mode has no impact.
Runs Beautifully aside from Voice Chat not working in Multiplayer. No problems with Ps4 controller detected natively.
works perfectly (linux mint 20.1 / proton 6.3.3)

Does not load to menu
Error windows pops up saying "Sorry, something went wrong, for solution please visit - website which just asks you to fill in a report.
Steam log has this at the end:
pid 25455 != 25454, skipping destruction (fork without exec?)
This game use to work, but now I am unable to get it to work not matter what proton version I use.

Unplayable
Can't even get it to launch and DRM makes you run it through Steam
Appare una finestra di errore in fase di avvio perché non riconosce il driver, ma basta cliccare ok e il gioco parte
Ho utilizzato proton 5.13-6 e una scheda video rx 6800 xt
Runs Nicely, howether the game is natively bugged and the bugs can also be found on proton.
Fonctionne parfaitement, porte même les bugs natifs
Funciona perfecto, igual que en Windows
It works with Proton 5.0.9 , but not with Proton 5.13-1. After an update of 14.10 it works with ray tracing extensions!

Doesn't start.
The message box that appears:
There was an error while initializing the graphics driver
vkCreateDevice failed with error (VK_ERROR_INITIALIZATION_FAILED)
The game will exit when you click OK.

Out of the Box.
Runs perfectly out of the box. Beat the whole game with no problems.
Install it, select Proton version & play!
No RTX on Linux (yet???)
Works out of the box
Worked flawless out of the box. Did not see any of the problems that others have reported.
